POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

I’ve been trying to figure out what to say about this week, and honestly, I don’t think I have the words yet. ❤️🇭🇳

Our One world health volunteer team served 894 patients across 5 communities around Siguatepeque. I spent most of the week in pharmacy, bringing patients their medications and explaining in Spanish what each one was and how to take it.

I went into this trip thinking about the impact I hoped we could make. I wasn’t prepared for how deeply the people I met would impact me instead.

I’ve been emotional since we left. I didn’t want to leave. A huge part of me wanted to stay, keep helping, learn more, and figure out what else could be done.

This week put so much into perspective. Of course I came home more grateful for things I normally don’t think twice about: clean water, trash service, transportation, schools, healthcare. But it went so much deeper than that. I met people living much simpler lives who welcomed us with so much warmth, joy, and positivity. It made me think about opportunity, what we actually need to be happy, and how easy it is to lose perspective in our everyday lives.

And somehow, mixed into all of those emotions, this week was also so much fun. We laughed constantly, made new friends, got caught in a storm, navigated some very muddy roads, and worked alongside an amazing group of Honduran doctors and volunteers.

There are so many people, stories, and moments from this week that I want to share, and I know I can’t fit them all into one post.

So for now, this is just a glimpse. ❤️

How was my week? I went to Honduras hoping I could help. I left wishing I could stay and do more.

Thank you to @oneworldhealth !

Siguatepeque was truly life-changing. I went to Honduras thinking I was going there to give, but I came home realizing just how much I received. The 894 patients we treated, the relationships I formed, and the perspective I gained will stay with me forever.

Throughout the week, I saw things that were difficult to comprehend—families solely dependent on donated clothing, homes with holes in the roof, no reliable transportation, and people living with life-threatening medical conditions without access to the care they desperately need. Yet, despite the circumstances they were facing, the people we met welcomed us with so much kindness, warmth, and love.

One of the moments that has stayed with me most was seeing several mothers who didn’t know their own children’s birthdays or, even their names. It was difficult to process, and it made me realize how differently life can look depending on where you are born and the circumstances you grow up in.

Being immersed in the communities and getting to experience even a small glimpse of everyday life there opened my eyes to a reality so different from the one I’ve always known. It’s one thing to hear about poverty or lack of resources, but it’s completely different to see it firsthand and meet the people who live it every day.

Thank you God for this opportunity to serve!🇭🇳

For as by the one man’s disobedience the many were made sinners, so by the one man’s obedience the many will be made righteous. - Romans‬ ‭5‬:‭19‬ 🙌🏾

Because of one man’s disobedience, sin entered the world.
But because of Jesus’ obedience and sacrifice, we have been given the opportunity to be made righteous and spend eternity with Him. ❤️‍🔥

Jesus died for our sins.
Jesus rose from the dead.
And He calls us to surrender our lives and follow Him.

Salvation is available. Jesus is the way.
John 14:6

Don’t just admire the sacrifice - surrender to the One who made it. ✝️

You can call on Him whenever.

In any situation, trial, or moment - He’s near and patiently waiting for you to call on Him.

You don’t have to carry it alone. Call on Him.

Scriptures to meditate on:

📖 Psalm 18:6
📖 Psalm 34:17

He is close. He is listening.

He wants your full yes. Trust Him. Be obedient even when it’s scary. Have faith. His way is better.

Scriptures to meditate on📖:

Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go. Joshua 1:9

Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding - Proverbs 3:5

By faith Abraham obeyed when he was called to go out to a place that he was to receive as an inheritance. And he went out, not knowing where he was going. - Hebrews 11:8

The color green = life, renewal, growth, God’s provision, peace & rest.

And it immediately makes me think of Psalm 23.

The Lord truly is our Shepherd. He watches over us, leads us, guides us, corrects us, provides for us, and gives us rest. He is ALWAYS with us.

His eyes are on us. 🙌🏾

So every time I see green, I’m reminded that I’m covered, provided for, and being led by the Good Shepherd.
