the arts remind us is that there is a we Learning from incredible creators, teachers, and activists across the arts and reflecting on the power of education to bring us closer to our humanity, to amplify youth and scholar voices, to create connection and belonging, to nurture creativity, to cultivate our gifts, and to value process over outcomes. The beauty is not only in what we create, but in who we become along the way. 🎨✨ Art helps us remember our shared humanity. ✨To me, the arts are always the answer. 🌹And as our world continues to evolve, perhaps AI literacy can be about learning to use technology to enhance not take away from our creativity, connection, and collective human consciousness. I’m excited to officially share that I am the newest member of the Board of Directors for CAPE Chicago — Chicago Arts Partnerships in Education. I am truly honored to serve an organization that believes in the power of creativity, education, and meaningful arts experiences for Chicago’s young people. As an educator, creative, and lifelong advocate for giving young people opportunities to be seen, heard, and inspired, this opportunity feels especially meaningful. I look forward to bringing my experience, ideas, resources, and relationships to the table while learning from an incredible group of leaders who are equally committed to CAPE’s mission. Here’s to three years of service, creativity, connection, and IMPACT. I’m ready to get to work! During the skettch and free write time the 1st and 2nd grade poets and artists of Currier Elementary School translated their drawings into poems. This is a wonderful way of showing students how to interpret their art work into poetry. I'm excited to work this group of rising artist. Poetry Lives Here
