If ever a word fitted an exhibition it is multifarious or manifold to express the activity of the Printmakers of Cape Cod showing at the Cape Museum of Art in Dennis,Massachusetts. Interesting to study the artists who paint and the artists who print. Some do both! Printmaking requires a certain amount of thinking inside out and backwards. It is for artists who enjoy process and may be averse to the blank page or canvas and the mere artists hand. I feel inspired to make a list of all the printmaking methods on view here. Oh, but wait! I don’t have to. They are listed in the back of the catalogue that accompanies the show available in the museum shop. See it before December 13th.

By the time it ends with a closing reception on Saturday, November 14, the Cape Cod Open Sculpture Invitational is expected to have been viewed by over 100,000 visitors to the @capecodmuseumofart, 60 Hope Lane #DennisMA #CapeCod.

“The celebration of sculpture and sculptors remains at the heart of our museum’s mission,” Benton Jones, the museum’s Director of Art, told @laurashabottart for the “Cornered” feature which opens our current issue.

“This is the third biennial [every other year] collaborative exhibition of sculpture with the New England Sculptors Association (@nesculptors) here at the CCMoA. It has grown in scale and popularity with every iteration.”

Read Shabott’s full interview with Jones in the September/October 2026 issue of @ArtscopeMagazine, available at partnering museums, galleries and art centers throughout New England and by digital purchase at artscopemagazine.com

Be yourself and know that that’s good enough
Don’t try to be someone else
Don’t try to be like someone else
Don’t try to act like someone else, be yourself
Be secure with yourself
Rely and trust upon your own decisions
On your own beliefs

When people become weed-heads
They become sluggish, lazy, stupid and unconcerned
Sluggish, lazy, stupid and unconcerned
That’s all marijuana does to you, okay?

So grateful to Cape Cod Museum of Art for placing “Saucy Little Minx” with a new collector. It’s always meaningful to see a piece find its way into a private collection—and especially wonderful when that connection happens through a museum exhibition. Thank you @capecodmuseumofart for supporting artists and art collectors.
