So, if you read volume 5 you know this one illustration with Lanzhou’s devil-like smile 👀 It made me think of this song, and once the idea appeared I had to make an edit 🤣

Even since reading QJJ vol.5 no book seems interesting. I miss my favorite scheming husbands 😔💔

Did I skim some more scary descriptions? Yes.
Did I fully understand the worldbuilding? No.
Did the slow-burn romance made me go crazy? Yes.
And that’s basically all you need to know 🤣

But seriously I had a great time with this story! I didn’t even notice when I was completely invested. The characters are so likeable. Lin Qiushi is a great main character - smart, sympathetic, adorable and oblivious. And Ruan Nanzhu is such a badass but also so hilarious - I love him. Their chemistry was awesome and they are perfect for each other! ❤️

I also liked the overall story and all the mysteries. Some adventures in doors were scarier, others a bit gory. I’m glad I didn’t get nightmares from this, I’m easily scared 😖 The ending was perfect, moving, and sweet.

Kaleidoscope of Death is officially released by Rosmei but you can read it for free on the WebNovel app 🤗

Do you all like scary things or are you easily frightened like me?

the things that are happening to danmei and baihe authors is frankly horrifying. the more I read about it, the more it upset me that they're going through this for just writing mature queer fiction!!!

china already has serious censorships and fines for pornography, but this is on a whole new level of witch hunt. I'm also aware of how the authorities silence the victims, as you can get an idea from the third slide. so we can only make our voices louder.

danmei and baihe have always existed, just as queer people have always existed. and these authors, regardless of their sexuality and gender, have made an incredible community worldwide that are ride or die for these genres through their writing. that's not something you can achieve through just silly gay porn.

as someone who reads anything I find intriguing, I found my favorite book from danmei. these novels can be profoundly thought-provoking written by incredibly passionate and intelligent writers. and it's nothing but infuriating to see them being treated as criminals (and worse, them feeling ashamed).

big thanks to all my lovely moots for bringing this to my attention (tagging y'all. hope you don't mind) and meirinasoe @dawn.writesstuff for raising awareness 💜

I'll link to the article in my story for now. so go have a read if you haven't already.

Finally, we can celebrate the release of the Polish translation of Tian Guan Ci Fu - Heaven Official’s Blessing - Błogosławieństwo Niebios! 🥰🫶❤️ Let me show you the gorgeous hardcover edition~

First of all, I absolutely love the black-and-white illustrations! I’d kill for a poster with the cart scene art or Hua Cheng badass scene 🤌✨
The color illustrations and the cover also turned out so beautifully. And of course, the sprayed edges! I couldn’t be happier, it’s such an amazing feeling to see my favorite series treated so well. Great praise to the illustrators and the publisher ❤️
B&W art - @vizerothree
Cover - @iideprzeciez

I’m planning to read it soon, so I can also tell you all how the translation turned out.
I’m so curious about your opinions! Do you like this edition?

I've been wanting to reread the Harry Potter series for a while now but I just don't have the time to reread a massive 7 book series, so I thought rewatching the movies would satisfy that desire. Turns out it didn't, so guess who's going to be rereading Harry Potter!

I'm so very excited to reread The Prisoner of Azkaban and The Half-Blood Prince because those are my favourite HP books! Which is yours?

I was also tagged in the #bookishratings tag a while back by the lovely @shans_shelves! Thank you sweetheart!

⚡Most Read Book: Probably Prince's Gambit by C.S. Pacat! I adore everything about that book and the amazing characters.
▪️
⚡ All Time Favourite: Omg this is so hard! I have so many favourite books, but I think I'd have to say Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen.
▪️
⚡ Favourite 2019 Read So Far: Definitely The Starless Sea by Erin Morgenstern! That book has everything I love in books, please read it!
▪️
⚡Most Hated Book of 2019 So Far: XX by Angela Chadwick. Just such a gross, annoying mess of a book.
