I was a young hip-hop producer in Jackson, Mississippi, running around record shops looking for inspiration from major label releases, trying to find my sound and connect with artists.
One day I walked into BeBop Record Shop and saw a Capitol Q mixtape sitting on the counter.
I bought it, played it, and instantly became a fan of his voice.
I’ve always believed a rapper’s voice is the real source of their sound…
and his tone was different.
Raw. Southern. Authentic.
I tried calling the number on the CD, but it didn’t work.
Never could reach him.
Fast forward years later…
I find him on YouTube.
He had his real number posted.
I called him while sitting at a bar in Lewisville, Texas…
and he picked up.
We talked like we already knew each other.
Like brothers.
Now every record he working on, I’m producing.
Kelly Ross on a lot of the features.
Real musicianship.
Real southern stories.
This ain’t random…
this feel like destiny.
This might be the album that changes everything for Suthern Cropz.
Straight out the Mississippi soil.
Farmerz Market Media
Built from the ground up.
