Movement for the Actor: Deepening Physical Awareness with Charls Hall and Sarah Hickler January 5-7 at 6pm to 9pm EST Link in bio! This workshop will draw on a variety of movement approaches for actors that address deepening the relationship to your body and channeling physical and emotional energy into dramatic action. The focus of the first half of each session is on basic physical awareness and freedom of movement. The second half of each session will focus on image-based movement explorations with attention to energy dynamics and expressivity, and developing a more physicalized relationship between the spoken word and the speaking body. #actorslife #theatrelife #actortraining #movement

“We must honour our own personal brand of creativity... let it out into the world... BE who we came here to BE.” ― Angie Karan . This is Maeve. She’s an actor. . It’s am amazing what different head positions mean when you see them on camera. . I direct every single step of my portrait sessions and that’s why I spend so much time moving my clients around. . We have to find the postures, positions and angles that ring true for every individual. For example, some people can lift their chin and look quite pleased and confident... while others look dismissive and condescending. And the difference is often just 2 or 3mm. . For actors it’s a little different. Since they are trying to portray a much wider range of expression, we can do a lot more with head position without looking ‘overdone’ or too posed. For regular folks, we just reign it in a bit.
