A photo of me learning, once again, that saying yes makes for better storiesšŸ˜…šŸ™ˆ

Threw on my judges hat for one of the elite @thetacticalgames heats recently to help, and then my brain caught up and said,

ā€œWait… this is a steel stage…meaning I have to call hits and misses in REAL time…and I’ve never done that before…and now I’m doing it for an ELITE HEATšŸ¤”šŸŖ¦ā€

To say I was profusely sweating and panicking is an understatement, because I really didn’t want to mess it up and ruin someone’s weekend🄲

Thankfully @recon_ro was my second set of eyes to help verify I was counting hits correctly, and thankfully @captainjames92 was as cool as a cucumber and probably the best person to judge in this instancešŸ™šŸ¼

Thanks @kaymarie1293 for capturing the chaos that took over my body and soul for 15 minutesšŸ¤£šŸ‘šŸ¼

I think I’m better suited at talking about the athletes then judging them🤪

THE TACTICAL GAMES NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP 2025…

What an incredible experience, even thought it didn’t end the way I wanted it to. It was the hardest weekend of competition and yet, the most fun. It’s a weekend of pushing yourself to your limits with the best people around. What more could you ask for?

To be able to make nationals for my first time after my first full year of TTG training was such a blessing, but man was it humbling! The first 13 stages went off and it was a roller coaster, taking a beating on some stages and feeling great on others. The learning curve was steep, But that’s why we are here!

Unfortunately the weekend ended in the worst possible way. I had my first ever ND. As I went through the final stage, I made a few small mistakes and tried to clean it up on the end, as I finished the final firing sequence. I went to clear my pistol and as I dropped my mag, I thought that I had racked the slide. (Ejecting the final round) then went to show clear and fired a shot accidentally (in a safe direction)… This erased all of the work that I had done for the weekend. And worst of all it was all my fault, no one else to blame but myself.

It hurt to watch all of my scores get zeroed out after putting everything on the line from the weekend but that’s my own damn fault. So it’s time to move on, take the lessons as they come and never make that mistake again. I’m extremely great full for the @thetacticalgames staff and @thayer.nick @nickpalaciostx for such an incredible event.
