I still can't get over how gorgeous @meredith_mcr and @captainmiller16528 ceremony was at @castletonfarms. I don't typically take bride and groom portraits with the ceremony in the background, but it was just too pretty to pass up! #MillerTime #AMPbride #amandamayphotos

When I started shooting weddings 10 years ago, bridal detail flatlays were not a thing. Then someone, somewhere did it one time, and it has taken off. It’s not everyone’s cup of tea, which is fine, but I LOVE them. I love the challenge of having to find a surface to shoot them on. The hunt for just the right combo of everything. Piecing it together like a puzzle. Some of the pieces I bring, but most of it is straight from the bride.
.
When you hire me for your wedding, I send you a reminder email 3 days before the wedding to gather up all these things and have them ready for me when I get there. That way I can start rolling and getting a feel for the day’s vibe. #MillerTime #AMPbride #amandamayphotos

This wedding had SO many unique things, but you know what was my favorite? The fireworks. @meredith_mcr mom, Missy, arranged this as a surprise for everyone. It was the most perfect surprise because it came from a place of @meredith_mcr dad proclaiming that they were "going out with a bang" as they wrapped up their last daughter's wedding. For this to make total sense though you have to know they had 4 weddings in 5 years, and Meredith and Matthew's was the final one. They definitely did go out with a bang.
.
It was a Castleton Farms wedding for the books. Beautiful details, stunning florals, amazing lighting, and most importantly, a family that loves one another to the core. Honestly, it's the emotion that fills the day that makes it most beautiful. It's mom tearing up as she looks at her baby girl in her dress. It's the groom fighting back tears as he reads his letter from his soon-to-be wife. It's the maid of honor wiping her cheeks as she listens to the vows. It's the father's tears when he does his own first look with his sweet daughter. It is the giant smiles and laughter when the rings are a little hard to get on during the ceremony. It's the long hugs as they celebrate with all their closest people right after walking back down the aisle. It's the sweet snuggles during the first dance. It's the emotion.
.
So, tonight on the blog, I am sharing a little bit about how God used their wedding, and you can see all the emotion surrounding their day. Click the link in my bio! #MillerTime #AMPbride #amandamayphotos

I love it when God moves in such a way that it even makes unbelievers think twice about if there’s a God or not. I already have @meredith_mcr and @captainmiller16528 blog post written in my head and I just wanted to allude a little bit about it here so you could look forward to the follow up on Thursday when their blog goes live.

Congratulations you two. I am so super grateful to have been a part of your gorgeous day. And what more could you ask for than today’s beautiful weather and a big fat W for the VOLS 😉

Meredith and Matthew are basically professional models now. The first five minutes of every session is always a little awkward. Getting the feel of it and learning that resting your foreheads together isn't as weird as it feels initially. But by the end, they threw those foreheads together like they'd done it a million times and it felt so natural. That is why we do engagement sessions. Because now, on the wedding day, we hit the ground running, and there are no weird first five minutes! Which matters a lot when you only have thirty minutes together! See more of @meredith_mcr and @captainmiller16528 on the blog! #AMPbride #amandamayphotos
