Over the last several years I've been working hard on breaking out of my comfort zone and developing my inner self-confidence and contentment. It's a constant struggle to break free and be me, but I know we all struggle with that inner self-doubt and belief at times.
6 years ago I decided to make the leap leaving everything I knew about athletics and sports to dive straight into the Outdoors Media and Fishing Industry. I was green to say the least (and still am) but I wanted NEW adventures and challenges out of life.

Every now and then I take glance back in the rear view to appreciate where I came from and all the amazing experiences and life lessons I learned along the way. The lessons were endless and it's where I learned to grind, work hard, and NEVER be to big to do the little things for the success of the TEAM.

PELAGIC took a risk on me 6 years ago by providing me with a chance to PROVE myself working on various independent projects and tasks. I bugged and harrassed them daily, weekly, and monthly for new chances and opportunities to show them what I could do and add to the TEAM.
Luckily through hardwork and dedication over time I finally earned the right a few years ago to be brought on as full time PELAGIC TEAM member. I couldn't be more grateful for the opportunity as I continue to strive for success, get better each day, learn more, and will always be a TEAM player.

I've ONLY just scratched the surface of my career in this industry and are very thankful for my @pelagicgear FAMILY for opening up new doors in life. "Yesterday's the past, tomorrow's the future, but today is a GIFT. That's why it's called the present." Thankful, Grateful, Blessed and DETERMINED to LIVE this life to the fulliest!

Throughout life and getting older I've learned that boat rides, swimming in the deep blue, treestands, and camp fires are my JAM.
Slowly, I'm overcoming my daily and life insecurities. I want to open as many new doors in this life as possible. My goals and New Year resolutions for 2020 are simple.

Nothing like walking into your CHEMO session and treatment center wearing your @pelagicgear boots and fishing gear after just getting off the water less than an hour before. I received that immediate look and comment from my Nurses... "You look like you've been fishin' and smell like it to haha." My response "Yes Ma'am. We and slayed it!" Yesterday was a day I'll cherish and remember forever. My old @uvafootball teammate and roommate @jathanieldorsey is visiting family in his hometown of Jacksonville this week for the Holidays. Dorsey grew up in a rougher part of the Jacksonville area and unfortunately never had the ability or the access to get on the water let alone see or catch a Saltwater fish.

Yesterday we changed that as we had an EPIC day on the water and I think we hooked Dorsey for life. The smiles, laughes, and time spent together was the best medicine and treatment I could receive going into my CHEMO session just a few hours later in the day. Dorsey is now a First Responder and Firefighter in Charlottesville, VA. And making a positive difference in this crazy world.

The day was a full circle from fishing laughes, college war stories, and tight lines in the morning; right into IV's, solitude, and CHEMO treatment in the afternoon. I will never bit$& or complain about my situation nor do I have any time or effort to waste doing do. I feel blessed EVERY single day to see the sunrise and thankful every time I see the Sunset!
All I see is the light in life and have ZERO room for any darkness or negativity. Time to get busy LIVIN' and appreciate this life.
