Wenn der Tag langsam in den Abend übergeht … ✨

Die Sonne wird weicher, die Lichter gehen an und aus dem Trubel des Tages wird diese ganz besondere Abendstimmung.

Menschen sitzen noch gemeinsam im Garten, stoßen miteinander an, lachen, erzählen und genießen den Moment. Irgendwann wird getanzt, die Musik wird lauter und aus einem wunderschönen Hochzeitstag wird eine richtig schöne Feier.

Genau diese Stunden lieben wir bei uns im Haus der Ideen besonders. 🤍

Und ein kleiner Tipp von uns an alle zukünftigen Brautpaare: Wenn es euer Budget zulässt, plant eure Fotografin oder euren Fotografen gerne bis in den Abend hinein ein – am besten so lange, bis es dunkel ist und die Party richtig begonnen hat.

Denn gerade in diesen Stunden entstehen oft ganz besondere Bilder: ausgelassene Momente auf der Tanzfläche, lachende Freunde, Umarmungen, Lichter und diese ganz besondere Stimmung, wenn alle einfach nur noch feiern.

Ihr werdet euch später ganz sicher freuen, auch diese Momente in Bildern festgehalten zu haben. Denn während der Hochzeit selbst bekommt ihr von all dem manchmal gar nicht so viel mit – umso schöner ist es, diese Erinnerungen später wieder anschauen und erleben zu können. ✨

Part Two: Our Photographer Fairy 🧚

As we were leaving (like I mean suitcase in hands level of “as we were leaving”), our original photographer let us know she would she would not be able to make it due to extenuating circumstances. I spent the whole night at the airport researching photographers and trying to find someone with a portfolio that matched the ideas I had about our day I had been thinking about and planning the last two years.

Enter @captured.by.aliia who is normally booked, but happened to take this random weekend off to relax, sleep, and spend time with family. She saw my desperate inquiry and decided to give up her downtime to help us make our elopement day come to fruition. Before we knew it, we were picking her up at the airport at midnight the night before our wedding. If you know Curtis and I, we are both introverted, and chatting with a stranger is not necessarily our cup of tea. Aliia hopped in our car, and I asked how her flight was. She responded with a slight grin, “It was good, although the man beside me was a bit too… communicative… so I didn’t sleep much”. My introverted heart, who would also be displeased with a stranger talking to me while I was trying to sleep on a flight, relaxed and I knew in that moment we would get along just fine.

My feelings towards her were confirmed when she chimed in from the back seat as we were driving between locations to say our playlists were perfect for this adventure around the island. Curtis and I had been playing our “roady” and “engagement party” playlists, which are essentially the most insane mish mash of songs that make up our relationship. They’re made up of songs that make our friends smile, songs that remind us of driving to Halifax together, and everything in between.

It was a a literal dream to have her in our back seat and behind the lens for our adventure. When she sent me the iPhone sneak peaks at the end of the day, I couldn’t believe we’d be getting a full album from her. We dropped her off at the airport that evening and I got out of the car to say goodbye. I asked if I could hug her (she was standing in her hotel slippers because she ruined
