We had an incredible week focused on Sports photography. Starting us off with a talk from alumni and professional sports photographer Sakha @ato.visuals who presented tips for photographing sports as well as connecting to job opportunities within the sports industry. Followed by a hands-on sports photography workshop
💞Special thanks to @vmhsbbc for collaborating with us to find student athletes to practice on during our class as well as special guest speakers and alumni @kadence_photographyy and @jillybstudio who worked with our students one on one during the workshop! #ItTakesAVillage #SportsPhotography CTEWorks

Join us tomorrow from 1–4 PM in downtown Riverside at UCR ARTS for the opening reception of Storytelling Through Photography: Inland Empire Students Inspired by Lenard Smith — featuring the work of 14 incredibly talented Vista Murrieta student artists. 📸✨ @vistamurrietahs

This special exhibition was created in collaboration with UCR ARTS and inspired by the work of Ghanaian-American photographer Lenard Smith, whose exhibition Fortuitous Encounters is currently on view at the California Museum of Photography. After participating in a workshop with Lenard, students created original artworks using meaningful objects from home to build personal visual narratives inspired by his process and style.

We are incredibly proud to see our students’ work exhibited in conversation with such an important contemporary artist and museum exhibition. Huge thank you to Lindsey Hammel, @sff.pll, the whole team at @ucrarts and of course Lenard Smith, and everyone who helped make this collaboration possible. Come celebrate these talented young artists and experience the incredible work on view at the California Museum of Photography on Main Street in Riverside. 📸💙💛
