🏆 We have some news!

Manchester has been named the 6th Best City in the UK and the 5th Friendliest City in the UK in the @cntraveler Traveller Readers’ Choice Awards 2026. Of course, we’re delighted. 
Do we think we should be higher? Of course we do. 
Would a Mancunian ever let a league table have the final say? Absolutely not. 
And are you going to give your opinion on that? We reckon so. 
We’ll let Edinburgh enjoy the top spot for now. But whether it’s the music, football, food, festivals, parks, history, neighbourhoods or simply the people, we think Manchester definitely deserves its place among the UK’s very best. 
So, in keeping with our true Mancunian friendliness, we’d like to congratulate all the cities that made the list but... respectfully suggest a recount. 😉 
We’re proud of the recognition, but we’re even prouder of the people who make Manchester such a welcoming place to live. After all, anyone who’s ever asked a stranger for directions in Manchester and ended up with a ten-minute conversation probably won’t be surprised to see us named one of the UK’s friendliest cities.
