Note to self: NEVER come back to New York in August ☀️ 🔥

It’s always a great time here. Enjoy some pics from my week long vacay with some of my lovely friends ✨

Lili put me on to kimchi bowls and I miss them already 😫

After returning from another incredible trip to New York, I decided my next “sifting through the archives” post would highlight some of the record store business cards I’ve held onto over the years. This time was no different than my other stops to the Big Apple — full of walking, good food and of course record shopping with my nephew, Camron and my friend Bill. I acquired a stack of new stuff I can’t wait to drop at some upcoming parties, and even snagged a couple of cards to add to the stash.

1. IGS records📍Dallas
Located in Fair Park and run by Robert Taylor. A Hazy Daze hangout and definitely a spot that boosted my discovery and collection of dance music as a teenager.

2. Hit City📍Fort Worth
The first spot I picked up a handful of hip-hop records. I was so excited about my purchases, but quickly discouraged when I got home and realized you had to have WAY more records to rock a cohesive hip-hop set.

3. The Bomb📍 Dallas
Located inside Big T Bazaar. S/O Cap!

4. Neurolux📍Fort Worth
Another 817 shop located on Camp Bowie, they specialized in dance music and were always well curated. There are notes on the other side of the card. Looks like I pieced up a DJ Sneak & Idjut Boys record :)

5. LO-PRO📍Lubbock
Founded by an old rave buddy.

6. Johnny Law📍Denton
Located on Fry St. during the Fry St. Fair glory days.

7. The legendary OG Screw Shop📍Houston 🔩

8. Turntable Records📍Austin
I definitely picked up some freestyle tapes from here.

9. Big City📍NY
I really miss this spot. Opened by Jared, who used to work at another classic NY shop, Sound Library. Impeccable selection & condition.

10. Street Corner📍Michigan

11. Ultra Azul Records📍CDMX
Picked up some Mexican pressings of Morrissey records from these guys right off the streets.

12. Gramophone📍Chicago
A city staple.

13. A1 & Captured📍NY
Added these two cards to the mix from this trip. Two of my NYC favorites.
