I see a trend here.. can you?

I’m feeling a wave of clarity coming with photographers reminding themselves that comparing gets you no where.

Socials have consistently put us down by forcing us to see all of the work other photographers are producing.. and we fell into the trap of comparison. Then slides in imposter syndrome.

But the messaging of “run your own race” and “do success your way” on repeat from so many corners of this industry, I feel a change!!

Maybe it’s just a change on the surface, we are all preaching the messaging but are we all deep down feeling it too?

Where are you at with it? Do you still battle with it? Or are you leaning into your version of success and talent more these days?

Issue 23 is published! ✨🥳 and wow, does this issue pack some beautiful imagery. Let us take a moment for our wonderful cover artist, Zoe!!

@soulfullyyoursphotography

In form and feeling, Zoe is the embodiment of what a Portraits issue should stand for. This cover is not simply a striking image, but a study in reverence. Zoe understands how to build a portrait that carries both narrative and symbolism. Her work reflects a command of anatomy, line, and negative space, resulting in imagery that feels both sculptural and intentional.

Our front cover selection went beyond aesthetics and into biography. Zoe’s story makes it clear that her work is informed by lived experience. As a mother photographing motherhood, she approaches maternity not as a concept, but as a transformation she understands. That understanding changes everything. It shapes how she directs, what she chooses not to edit away, and how she holds space during each session.

Zoe’s work moves beyond editorial because it does not prioritize spectacle over substance. Editorial often aims to impress. Her work aims to honor. Portraiture at its highest level is not about flattering angles alone. It is about understanding identity, vulnerability, and power within the frame. Zoe embodies all of that. She approaches each woman as worthy of being documented with intention and respect.

That is why Zoe of Soulfully Yours Photography is not only a fitting choice for this issue. She defines what portraiture can be when it is created with technical skill, artistic awareness, and genuine care for the person in front of the lens.

Let us welcome our featured artist of Issue 23, Reharne Langleyl!!!✨👏🏽

@capturetheawe

Reharne of Capture the Awe is a beautiful and instinctive fit for our Portraits Issue because her work radiates sincerity. The warmth woven through these images is not simply tonal; it is emotional. In her outdoor maternity portraits, the golden light and earthy greens create a soft, enveloping atmosphere that makes each frame feel heartfelt. The color grading leans warm without overpowering the natural hues, allowing skin tones to remain luminous and true while still carrying that signature glow that defines her aesthetic. Her focus on connection is unmistakably present across the entire series. Even the close details are captured with precision and emotional awareness. Reharne understands that portraiture is not just about posing but about presence. Her technical control of light, her thoughtful compositions, and her ability to create a safe space for moments position her as a portrait artist who does more than document milestones.

Stay tuned to find her work, along with our many other talented creatives, coming to you this week!! 💫✨
