TERGA, the North African fusion band based in the Bay Area, performed at Woodhouse Blending & Brewing in May 2025 for a special event organized by Center for the Middle East and North Africa (CMENA). The night brought together music, culture, and community through high-energy performances and vibrant North African sounds. The evening was made even more special by the presence of Fella Oudane, whose performance added a powerful and unique energy to the celebration.

Thank you everyone who supported our fundraiser. We raised $16,365! That money will be distributed among marginalized people in Iran, such as low-income elderly people, people with disabilities, young children without parents, low-income Afghan refugees and low-income women who are heads of household.

We are closing our Oakland fundraiser now. We will announce a new QR code for Venmo and Zelle once we have the capacity to make more t-shirts and totes for sale.

Are hearts are still full from last Sunday’s event. Thank you all! We love you!

Long live the people of Iran!

We are grateful to the community for showing up and packing the house yesterday at our fundraiser.
Special thanks to Neema, Ballet Afsaneh, Terga Band, Arslen and Dan, and Dena Rod for their powerful musical, dance, and poetry performances and for donating their time.

The list of volunteers and artists who donated their to@e and art is very long. But we are indebted to so many people for making our mutual aid fundraiser a true community event. Not only did we raise over $14,000, but we shared space with so many people who crave community and good energy, without the bitterness of those who tried to jeopardize our event with their baseless accusations, because of their simplistic binary thinking and their fear mongering. Despite multiple differences in our approach to political matters, we shared our strong opposition to the illegal war on Iran, the massacre in Lebanon, and the genocide in Palestine. And this is how movement-building works! We keep each other safe, and baby, we ain’t goin’ nowhere!

Our featured artist in the countdown to tomorrow’s fundraiser is Anis Sehiri. Anis plays North African Berber music, specifically focusing on Berber beats and scales, often incorporating Spanish guitar melodies and Middle Eastern rhythms.

Join us tomorrow (Sunday), April 5th from 1-5 pm to listen to Anis’s beautiful music. What you spend will go to help the Iranian and Afghan people in Iran who are affected by war.
