🐪THAR DESERT ADVENTURES

I first came to Pushkar almost 13 years ago because it was the closest place to do a camel safari near Jaipur.

It was meant to be a quick side trip between bigger adventures.

Turns out it was the main attraction and the biggest of all my adventures.

This time it was the kids’ turn for a desert adventure, so we took them for a sunset safari on our last day before leaving.

Until next time.

📢 We need your help! * MENOPAUSE IS ABOUT TO BE UNCOVERED *

On Monday, November 6, there's a game-changing opportunity to put menopause front and center in Australia! We're on the cusp of a historic moment, and we need YOUR voices to amplify the cause.

Senator @larissawaters (Greens) is set to make a ground-breaking motion, seconded by Senator Mariielle Smith (ALP), for a Senate inquiry into perimenopause and menopause. 🙌

@peripausers stands firmly behind this initiative, and we're eager to contribute to this pivotal inquiry that will shed light on the state of menopause in Australia.

Why is this so crucial, you ask? 🤔 Check out these staggering statistics:

✨ Up to 80% of individuals experience menopause-related symptoms.

✨ For over 30% of people, menopause poses a significant health challenge.

✨ Shockingly, 85% of those with moderate to severe symptoms go without proper diagnosis, treatment, or support.

✨ People experiencing menopausal symptoms are 2.5 times more likely to suffer from impaired work performance.

✨ During menopause, there's a 2-4 times higher likelihood of experiencing a major depressive episode.

Menopause affects countless Australians, and it's time they receive the support and care they deserve.

📢 We need YOUR help to make some noise and let your Senator know that menopause matters. It's not just a women's issue; it's a societal concern.

Every individual with a uterus who reaches midlife goes through menopause, and its impact is currently under-recognized and under-resourced.

@markbutlermp @gedkearney @adambandt @albomp

How can you help? Write, call, or text your Senator this week and urge them to vote YES on November 6 for a Senate Inquiry into perimenopause and menopause.

We'll also have a story post you can share and tag your local MP to spread the word.

Update I just realised you cant share our stories - so I a reel will follow

PERI MENOPAUSE MATTERS!

MENOPAUSE MATTERS!

WOMEN'S HEALTH MATTERS!

WE MATTER!

Let's unite and make some noise for this important cause! 🙏💪 #MenopauseMatters #PeriMenopauseMatters #WomensHealthMatters #WeMatter #SenateInquiry #SupportMenopause #Australia #MakeSomeNoise

Fashion means more to me than the clothes that we wear.

It’s a language that needs no words, a fire we all gather around to warm our soul, a community, and a reflection of the world around us.

It was a joy to be in a room full of people who understands this in a city that is fluent in fashion for @the.official.saint.stella.m launch at @parisfashionweek

Le sigh ❤️

Swipe for the little moments beyond the show.

👋🏼 Hello folks. I'm Joanna, one of the 'Peripausers' who has found great support and advice on perimenopause from this small group of friends, huddled together in a group chat, more than I have from any of the GPs I've seen over the last few years.

♥️I slowly slid into perimenopause around age 42, but it really picked up the pace when I hit 45. I had rage, brain fog, overwhelm, fatigue, depression, anxiety and low self esteem. I struggled to work or parent and I spent a lot of time doom spiralling that the best days of my life was over.

Add to that the heart palpitations, heartburn, hives, itchy legs and sore skin on my face... and yes, night sweats and hot flashes, oof!

♥️Over three years I saw five GPs. One missed that I was in perimenopause, another completely dismissed it, the other three all had outdated and limited knowledge of perimenopause and hormone therapy, giving me no confidence in them at all.

♥️ I'd tried expensive menopause supplements but the only thing they improved was my sore knee joints. My symptoms were too difficult to live with and I opted for hormone therapy.

♥️ I started on combined transdermal HRT patches and within two days it felt like waking up. Within weeks my mental health had improved, self esteem returned, heart palpitations disappeared, skin was healthy, I was sleeping well...I felt like me again.

♥️ Hormones aren't for everyone and they're not a silver bullet, but they were life changing for me. I also manage symptoms by moving my body, stress management, improved eating and take supplements for my joints and energy.

♥️ I deep dived into evidence based women's health specialist podcasts to learn more about the role of the hormones I'm taking.

It's here that I've come to learn how little training GPs get on women's health, which is outrageous given that 50% of the population has, is or will go through menopause.

♥️That's why we @peripausers are advocating for change and asking for better training for our GPs.

Thank you for signing our petition. Please share with everyone and let's get 10k (and more!) signatures.

Marriage isn’t for me, but I do love a good wedding.

And my best friend’s son’s wedding called for a new dress.

I searched for weeks for a dress that fit my budget, my style and my ethics… I struggled. It’s a jungle out there!

I found myself slipping back into old habits, wandering around fast fashion haunts I used to frequent many years ago.

Still nothing.

But I kept looking and then I saw the one.

She ticked all the boxes:

One shoulder
Colourful
Independent designer
Ethical & sustainable
I’ll wear her again and again
I feel fabulous

So I said I do!

Here she is, the Prism dress by @kitty_joseph

It’s true love.

🦚This green dream from @micky_in_the_van just arrived (with love) from Melbourne.

I’ve had my eye on it for months so i’m delighted I’ve finally got it.

When I get something new, I often wear it every day for a week, styling it with different things from my wardrobe, so i’ll be over here throwing clothes all over my room as I play dress ups for the foreseeable…
