Second stop of the day at the Oinkster for Makina Sunday Service: Go Fast and Die-Cast! It's been getting harder and harder to take photos, too busy chatting with all the awesome people who come out the Oinkster.

Alright ya’ll, my turn…

It’s like I’ve been working on a mural for the past 5 years. Putting so much work, heart, and soul into one little section at a time. Building relationships, having real in person conversations with each and every one of you at some point throughout this journey. Years of late nights and early mornings organizing and cramming in meetings whenever I could. Sunday was like I finally looked up and saw the entire piece of work as a whole, and it was so beautiful.

Everyone always tells me they see MAKINA everywhere, but in my busy dad life I don’t get out too much to other events (sorry @vintagemotorunion , I promise I’m gonna come one day!). Sunday confirmed it for me, I think I saw every MAKINA shirt and hat ever made - it was like seeing the story being told in real time. I want to thank you all for showing so much love and support throughout the years. MAKINA, the Carrera Arroyo, Midweek Machines, Sunday Service - all would be nothing without the community’s support.

I recently wrote an article for a magazine that @efedz and I are putting together (slowly) that I’m going to tease here. It was about the origins of car clubs in Los Angeles. Post WWII, all these young men came home with new skills, money in their pockets, and an appetite for adrenaline. They were also in search of that camaraderie the military provided, so they would get together and build hot rods with shared skills/parts and race in the dry lake beds of El Mirage. Post WWII was also when the Arroyo Seco Parkway was completed. Put that all together and you have - us. A group of like minded people who want to help each other build cars and go fast. With the volume of photos and “content” being pushed out from Sunday, I just wanted to pump the brakes a little bit and reiterate the original purpose - to celebrate all the history that led to us. Whether there was 200 or 20 of you that showed up, I would have been equally stoked to hang out and drive the Arroyo together. ✌️❤️🏎️ #makina
