🗓️ Monday 27th April 8pm

Jo in the Water follows a passionate sea swimmer turned reluctant activist, Exmouth-based Jo Bateman, as she takes on one of the UK’s biggest water companies in a David-and-Goliath battle to protect our waters from devastating sewage pollution.

In the wake of Channel 4’s recent hard-hitting docu-drama which has left many people both angry and frustrated, Jo in the Water picks up the baton from Dirty Business and seeks out joy and inspiration amongst the many amazing individuals fighting to make a difference.

“Jo inspires people… they realise that together we have a greater strength. In a shoal like this we become mighty.”
@chrisgpackham2, Wildlife TV presenter & conservationist

Sometimes it’s the place who make the people, and sometimes it’s the people who make the place. And sometimes, like in this case, it’s both. It’s the legacy, it’s the tradition of excellence, it’s the TEAM. It is a group of people fully committing themselves to the TEAM. And when you add it all together, when you consistently strive forward — everyday — for the team, you find something really special come from it. And that is the case here. 13 weeks of selflessness, toughness, and togetherness. And the results came with a Triple Crown - FCIAC, Class LL, & State Open Champs, 15 All-State Swimmers & Divers, potentially 6 All-Americans, and the most points scored by any swim team in Connecticut, ever. But more importantly, enjoying every day, one day at a time, and doing it together — is what we did the best. And that’s why this team, and the 2025 season, has been so special. Winning is fun, yes, but winning is not the point - who you become is the point. #InTheArena

What a season! Reunion week has come to an end & that’s a wrap on the 2024 GVSD journey. Our growth in the pool as a team was incredible. Our growth as a team overall - coming together to develop new relationships, setting & accomplishing new goals, and being your best for each other made it a special group & a special season. Thanks for the memories…And keep going — there’s no dream too big!
