Mobility Scooter Needed 🦼

One of the men we support is wheelchair bound. For a year or so he has been living in a hotel with other asylum seekers. He rarely leaves his room due to his disability.

Until recently his room mates and hotel staff have taken care of him and made sure he gets food etc. He has a care plan and gets visited for half an hour each day.

But the hotel is emptying it’s getting harder for him to be supported and he’s terrified about being dispersed and wondering how he’ll cope.

Mobility is the key issue, and even with a good wheelchair he struggles to propel it.

It would be hugely helpful if he had a mobility scooter. 🛵

We have sourced some good quality secondhand mobility scooters which with warranty, new batteries and charger cost around £400.

He’s currently in hospital and we would love to surprise him with a scooter on his discharge.

If you can share this post and the link to our fundraiser with your community we would be so grateful. To contribute to this cause comment scooter. 🛵

An industrious little fascist decided to vandalise our timetables & noticeboards over the weekend.

Incredibly, there's nothing patriotic about blocking public transport information or promoting neo-nazi ideology. If you spot any more of these, please do flag them. There's no space for hate in our town & this garbage belongs in the bin.

Collaboration is key to our work in Calais!

FAST and Care4Calais have recently launched a new pathway for people with medical needs to access clothes as part of their treatment.

This allows us to reduce the spread of infections, improve wound healing and prevent illness. It also allows us to provide more dignified and complete care for the people we support.

FAST often spend time on the same sites as Care4Calais which allows us to reach more people and to then effectively signpost to each other, as well as other organisations.

We also work together in other ways. FAST check and restock first aid kits and provide first aid training to volunteers! Care4calais often provides FAST volunteers with delicious homemade lunches!

All of our work would not be possible or as effective if it wasn’t for the collaboration and teamwork we share with each other as well as the countless other organisations that work alongside us in Calais. 💙

JOIN US 14th November in Liverpool for a unity march against the far right! 👆💚

The voices of division in our country are growing louder. Those who preach division are becoming
more confident.

For the first time the far right are driving politics at a national level, and far right protests on our
streets are mobilising the biggest numbers they ever have.

Their false promises seize on the very real economic problems people face, in order to scapegoat
migrants, Muslims, and refugees.

But we can change things together. The voices of unity can grow stronger. We can show that
strength lies in solidarity. That the change we need comes from us working together for hope not
despair, for unity not racism.

• Together we can reject narratives of division and racism.
• Together we can build solidarity across communities.
• Together we can unite against the far right.

On the 28 March 2026 500,000 people marched in London against the far right. It was the biggest
demonstration of its kind in British history.

Liverpool City Region Together are mobilising and organising across the Liverpool City Region for
a march in Liverpool on Saturday 14 November 2026. A march that brings a message of hope
over fear, love over hate and unity over division.

We hope you can join us on Saturday 14 November and help build an alliance for hope and unity.

FINAL PUSH: Help us get 10,000 signatures to Andy Burnham!

Andy Burnham has committed to ending rough sleeping. But his Government continues to push forward their earned settlement plans.

Plans that will make more people homeless and put tens of thousands more children in poverty.

We're expecting an announcement on the plans any day now. This is our last chance to get our voices heard and these devastating policies scrapped.

Tell Burnham to bin the earned settlement plans - comment 'bin the plans' and we'll DM you the link.

PCS members in Calais

In February, PCS Home Office members joined general secretary Fran Heathcote in Calais, volunteering alongside @care4calais and seeing firsthand the reality facing refugees living there.

In bitterly cold, wet conditions, they spent two days working at distribution sites, meeting volunteers and speaking to people about the conditions they face.

The visit also brought PCS’s Safe Routes policy to life: our call for a safe, humane system that lets people seeking asylum reach the UK without making dangerous journeys.

🎥 This short film follows their visit and what they learned.

Watch the full film.
