Thanks for making it special, and safe travels back home. We'll be publishing a gallery with all of the best photos from the show very soon. And don't despair, we're active all year round so keep following us for cargo bike inspiration!

We're also publishing Carrier, our magazine telling the human stories behind the cargo bike, in the spring. So stay tuned for that too.

➔ While we've got you; if you have any feedback about ICBF 2026, please reach out and let us know. We'll be sending out an evaluation soon, but even if you don't get it, we want to hear what worked and what didn't at the show this year. That way, we can improve it for 2027. Our DMs are open!

With 4.2 m³ of loading volume for urban transport, zemmi's modular cargo bike trailer is for anyone who wants to transport flexibly, emission-free and cost-effectively – completely without a driving licence. Mobilise apprentices, solve the driver shortage, replace small transporters, and simultaneously combat parking shortages and emissions.

Meet the team and take a test-ride at ICBF 2026, where they'll be exhibiting alongside @hypabox.

It's a heavy-duty flatbed trailer built to move large, bulky and unusual loads. The flat, unobstructed load bed takes overhanging loads of up to 200 kg with ease.

Turntable steering and overrun brake means it's stable under load and easy to handle, while standard industry and bike components mean the trailer is robust and can be serviced or repaired in any local bike workshop.

Oh, and it's designed, produced and assembled in the EU. Meet the team and check the tech at ICBF 2026 ➔

What 7,300+ tracked deliveries in Brussels tell us about cargo bikes versus delivery vans:

The Study
➔ A 2023 Brussels-based study fitted GPS trackers to nine e-cargo bikes, recording 7,340 deliveries across 907 routes over 1.5 months. The study, carried out by Kale AI, @urbike and @larryvsharry, looked at speed, productivity, costs and environmental impact, comparing the data gathered to simulated van routes using the Google Maps API.

️Speed: Twice as fast
➔ 48 mins vs 99 mins: average route completion time for an 8.5km run vs. simulated van routes.
➔16 km/h average speed: cargo bikes maintained consistent speeds. Vans averaged 11 km/h due to congestion.
➔30% shorter routes: access to cycling infrastructure and local shortcuts reduced distance travelled.

Productivity: Double the deliveries
➔ 10.1 deliveries/hr by e-cargo bike vs. 4.9 by van.
➔ Cargo bikes parked within 30 metres from the door on average, drastically reducing walking time. Meanwhile, previous studies have shown that vans can spend up to 25 min per stop just searching for parking.

Costs: Ten times cheaper
➔ €0.10 estimated operating cost per parcel for cargo bikes.
➔ €1.10 per parcel for small diesel vans; €1.05 for small electric vans.
➔ Cargo bikes also have lower capital expenditure, minimal maintenance, and zero parking fees going for them.

Environmental impact: 98% fewer emissions
➔ 98% lower lifecycle emissions compared to diesel vans; 96% compared to electric vans.
➔ The study also points out that switching to electric vans doesn't solve space or congestion issues. Meanwhile, the smaller size and nimbleness of cargo bikes directly reduces strain on urban space.

𝚆𝚑𝚊𝚝 𝚠𝚎 𝚖𝚎𝚊𝚗 𝚠𝚑𝚎𝚗 𝚠𝚎 𝚜𝚊𝚢 𝚒𝚝'𝚜 𝚝𝚑𝚎 #𝙳𝚎𝚌𝚊𝚍𝚎𝚘𝚏𝚝𝚑𝚎𝙲𝚊𝚛𝚐𝚘𝙱𝚒𝚔𝚎

Back on 31st December 2019 we unilaterally declared the 2020s the #DecadeoftheCargoBike.

Our prediction? The 2020s would be the decade in which the cargo bike hits the mainstream.

It's one of the guiding ideas behind everything we do at the International Cargo Bike Festival and Carrier Magazine.

Our goal is to inspire as many people as possible to stop using cars and vans and instead start using cargo bikes. The potential impact on our cities, the environment and our health is enormous.

So, six years on, how's the #DecadeoftheCargoBike going so far? Well, we've come a long way. For example, over a million lastenräder have been sold in Germany. More organisations and people are using cargo bikes than ever. And, slowly but surely, they're becoming a more and more common sight on the streets of countries that aren't the Netherlands or Denmark.

But there's still a long way to go. Despite widespread progress in the last few years, many of our cities are still dominated by cars. So we'll keep doing what we do, and invite you to join us and all of the other people and organisations pushing to make active transport the norm.

So, what's next? On 12-13 October we're gathering in Utrecht for ICBF 2026. Expect to meet manufacturers, fleet managers, cargo bike dealers, city planners, policymakers, journalists, logistics professionals, investors, academics, campaigners, designers, developers and more.

See you there?
