“Know more about humans. Assume less about THIS human”. @drsarahsarkis

One of the most important distinctions we teach at Lumina is this: Our role as coaches is not to decide what someone else’s experience means. It is to create the space for them to discover that meaning for themselves.

This week in our ICF Level 2 coach education pilot cohort, we explored beliefs, self-concept, and meaning alongside one of our incredible guest faculty members and psychologist, Dr. Sarah Sarkis.

The deeper we understand human behaviour, the more we recognize the importance of curiosity. We learn to question our own assumptions, listen beyond what we think we know, and create space for meaningful awareness, discovery, and growth.

This is the kind of learning we’re so passionate about bringing to @lumina.legacy

We are deeply committed to raising the standard of professional coaching education. Not simply teaching coaching skills, but developing thoughtful, skilled, self-aware practitioners who understand the responsibility and privilege of working with another human being.

Because becoming an exceptional coach is about more than mastering a framework. It’s about deepening your understanding of yourself, expanding your capacity to be present with others, and committing to your own continued growth.

Sarah, thank you for the extraordinary depth, wisdom, and perspective you bring to our community. We are so grateful to have you as part of our faculty!

And while our Level 2 pilot cohort continues this incredible journey, we’re also preparing to welcome our next Level 1 cohort in January 2027 (this will be our 2nd cohort!!!).

We already have an amazing group of leaders, entrepreneurs, and professionals joining us, and we’re excited about the community that’s growing.

Whether you’re looking to become a certified Executive Leadership Coach, bring professional coaching skills into your leadership, or begin your journey toward an ICF credential, we’d love to connect.

Enrollment for our ICF-accredited Level 1 program is now open, kicking off January 12th, 2027 🎉🎉

We’re still on the heels of our first immersion with our founding Lumina Level 2 cohort, and there is so much energy from those three days that we’re still taking in. 🎉

Twenty-six coaches, back together after beginning this journey in January, now deepening their professional coaching practice toward PCC-level coaching.

And you could feel the difference in the room.

The depth of the coaching. The discernment. The presence. The flow of the conversations allowing so much to be heard and shared. The confidence to stay with silence, follow what is emerging, challenge when needed and deepen into the WHO alongside the WHAT.

And then there was the connection.

The laughter. The conversations between sessions. The ease of being back together. The genuine excitement to sit across from one another and coach face-to-face again. The friendships. The community. The connection.

This is what we are creating at Lumina.

connection. Immersive experiences. Deeply connected coaching. A place where coaches and leaders develop their craft while building a professional community where they can continue practicing, learning, being challenged and growing alongside one another.

Because coaching is a practice. And the deeper you go, the more nuanced it becomes.

What do you notice? What do you follow? What do you leave alone? When do you ask the question, and when do you trust the silence?

That is discernment. And that is so much of the work we are exploring in Level 2.

We can say a lot about what is being built here, and so can our founding cohort.

These are incredible leaders continuing to deepen their coaching, build their businesses, expand the way they lead and illuminate what is possible through this profession. You’ll hear some of their experiences in their own words throughout this reel.

There is so much more ahead.

Our next Level 1 cohort begins January 2027, and enrollment is officially open. We are so excited to welcome the next group of coaches and leaders into this community.

Welcome to expansion…
And maybe even more than that, welcome to the depth that comes with it. this first picture and the last one. 🥹

You know those experiences that viscerally change you?
The ability for even deeper connection. The presence you learn to hold. The people that you deeply know. The moments where you look around and realize how much has changed, including you.

Last weekend was one of those moments.

We welcomed our founding students back for Level 2 at @lumina.legacy . I held our 500+ page manual in my hands after hundreds of hours of writing, learning, questioning, refining and creating for the first time 12 hours before we started teaching it all.

And I looked around the room at people we’ve had the privilege of working alongside for the last nine months.

We’ve witnessed so much change. Personally. Professionally. In their leadership. And especially in how they coach, and WHO THEY have become and are becoming.

The way they listen. Trust silence. Stay present. Ask deeper questions. Hold space for another human being without needing to lead them somewhere.

Watching someone move from learning coaching to really holding coaching is incredible. Coaching changes you.

And somewhere in that process, the coach changes too.

We get to bear witness. To our clients. To our students. To each other. And if we’re truly wanting to be professional coaches, we are paying attention, to ourselves.

Coaching changes the coach. Teaching changes the teacher. Leadership changes the leader.

Building Lumina has changed me. Fully and wholly. In all aspects.

I know the woman who started building this and what she has had to learn, unlearn, question and stretch into along the way.

I’m proud of her. And I’m proud of us.

Our team. The people who believed in this vision and brought their own brilliance to expand it. Our students who trusted us with their education and then did the work themselves.

That’s what I see in these photos.

Connection. Friendship. Coaching. Laughter. Tears. Growth. And a whole lot of knowing you🔥

With 97 days left in this year, that’s the question I’m carrying forward: Who are you becoming through all of it?

Funny how you can accidentally insert yourself into someone else’s coffee date… and walk away realizing God may have had a reason for putting you there. 😂🤍
So thankful to have made a new friend. You give off light, love, balance, and the kind of energy that reminds you how powerful it is when women genuinely support other women.

Here’s to choosing ourselves, cheering each other on, and more coffee dates to come. 🤍

The last day of our founding Level 2 Immersion in Oakville.

Not knowing more than the person in front of you. Noticing. Regulating. Handing it back to them. That is the whole practice, and this cohort spent the weekend proving they can do it.

Keep practising. Keep being coached. Keep choosing the rooms that ask more of you than you planned to give.

Thank you for this weekend. It’s just the beginning of SO SO MUCH!!!!!!!! The deeper we go as coaches, the deeper we can hold spaciousness and presence for our clients.

For anyone curious or interested in learning more our @lumina.legacy coach education and executive leadership certification programs, we are hosting a webinar this coming Thursday to learn all about Level 1 and our new cohort starting in January of 2027.

What an absolutely incredible weekend.
And this is only the beginning.

This past weekend I was in the room for the @lumina.legacy Immersion for the Level 2 Coach Education program. As I continue to pursue my ICF, PCC Designation I have big goals and dreams and all of this work will help me to be a better coach for my clients so that they have the best experience and results.

The power of being in the rooms, being a beginner, putting in the reps and building connections became a huge reminder this weekend.

This was also a weekend of the concept of the AND. Life required us to be in two different places, two different countries this weekend and I’m grateful we listened. Brad competed in Greece and won the silver medal and I deepened my learning and growth for all that is coming.

I’m so grateful for all the incredible connections, the learning, the reps and practice and for allowing myself to continue to be a beginner to grow.
To my fellow coaches, thank you for such a beautiful space this weekend. It is an honour to be on this journey with you.

To Lumina, @kim_m_fitzpatrick this is your vision continuing to come to life, and the whole Lumina Team, @kylehosick and @coachkellychristina I’m grateful to learn from you too.

This is the beginning of so much more to come…
Also, get in the rooms that stretch you!

PS Pocket Marsha is freaking powerful! 😂❤️🔥

Over the last few days, we’ve spent hours together deepening the practice of coaching @lumina.legacy level 2 Coach Education program.

Working through the manual and the learning. Practicing in triads. Breaking out into deeper conversations. understanding the science and the art of coaching, Reflecting, challenging our thinking, asking deeper questions and exploring what it really means to see the human in front of you.

All of it deeply rooted in the ICF Core Competencies and Code of Ethics, while continuing to explore the WHO, the WHAT and the HOW of coaching, leadership and the person behind the practice.

Because deeper coaching isn’t only about what you know or the questions you ask. It’s also about who you are in the room. How you listen. How you lead. How you honour another person’s experience. How you continue to develop yourself as the coach.

And you could feel that everywhere this weekend.

The depth of learning. The practice. The community. The friendships. The collaboration. The willingness to challenge each other, honour each other, learn from each other and really see each other.

Leaders learning alongside leaders. Coaches willing to be coached.
Humans learning how to hold deeper space for other humans.

This immersion kicked off our Level 2 journey, and in so many ways, it feels like we are just beginning.

There is something powerful about putting yourself in rooms that make you come alive. Rooms that stretch your thinking, deepen your practice and surround you with people who believe in continuing to grow.

Keep following the vision. Keep investing in the education, experience, certifications and designations that support where you want to go. And keep choosing the rooms that call you forward into who you are becoming.

This is just the beginning.

Maybe the change you keep asking for doesn’t need another plan.

Maybe it needs a whole-heart YES.

Yes to the workout.
Yes to the room.
Yes to the invitation.
Yes to being uncomfortable.
Yes to putting yourself around people who are choosing growth too.

You don’t have to know exactly where it’s going to take you.

But nothing changes until you choose something different.

Different life. Different choices. 💥
