Philadelphia vs New England

After a week in which both of my primary camera bodies went down (unbelievable!) I headed to this assignment with my D750 and ’classic’ 19-year-old Nikon D3.

Once daylight faded, I was really down to the D750… and realised how much I miss working with a DSLR. Mirrorless is brilliant for showing you exactly how your image will look, but there’s a clarity to looking through an optical viewfinder in the moment that I still miss.

It was a fun match to photograph too. Both teams were trying to play out from the back, but also willing to go long, which made for some good 50–50s. Then some VAR controversy with a foul after the offside was given, and 12 minutes of added time - with late goals too.

In the end Philadelphia lost 2-1, their first defeat since the World Cup break after 15 matches unbeaten.

Had the last minute opportunity to go with @sof.gymnast_2028 to catch our third @nerevolution game this season and second in the last two weeks…this time closer to home in Philly…got a huge W on the road and snapped the Union’s 15 game unbeaten streak as we approach the playoffs…also got to see her two favorite players @dortur9 and @carlesgil92 score goals. Big shoutout to Dor Turgeman as well for scoring on his 23rd birthday and making Sofia’s night by signing an autograph for her after the game. Great night!! #nerevolution #NERevs #mls #bringthefight
