My 13th half marathon🥹 13.1 x 13

Younger me would never believe she’d willingly go out and race 13 half marathons (and more to come!). I’m choosing to celebrate today because 13 is my favorite number, so I think it’s special that today I ran my 13th 13.1 miles!! And each of these 13 half marathons have taught me many different lessons & brought me so many different emotions. I’ve experienced joy, pride, euphoria, frustration, disappointment, sadness, gratefulness. These miles teach you a lot about yourself as well & they test your mind just as much as your body.

Here’s to 13 half marathons & more to come🏃🏽‍♀️

It’s been one month since I became dopey & yes, I have been making it the only thing I talk about for the past month💚💜

Here is to everyone I want to thank, so buckle up!
💜Krista- thank you for your encouragement and happiness through the weekend, PR in fun!!
💚Shay- my Shay, thank you for looking out for me on the course, and thank you for waking up so early just to make sure I had the best cheer squad out there and chasing me around the parks! Ily!!
💜Domenica- thank you for getting up super early on your off day just to come cheer me on, it kept me encouraged and so glad I got to see your face!!
💚mom & dad- you guys deserve a whole post for everything I could thank you for. From waking up every single early morning with me, to making sure you all were the only ones I could hear in the crowd. I couldn’t ever ask for better parents, I love you both💜
💜Carley- thanks for convincing me to sign up for these crazy races and encouraging me every step of the way and checking in on the course! Same time next year?
💚Storm- you were there for every training run, my cook for my carb loads, you would pick me up on the long runs when my legs hurt too much to drive, and every single early morning on race day. My biggest supporter, thank you for being there every single step of the way to this journey. I love you.
💜Chris- oh Chris. I truly would not have made it through dopey without you. We have been through this whole thing together, even if we weren’t in the same state. From the encouraging training texts, to the mile marker pictures, to get to know more about one another, and even getting to hear you get so excited about your probiotics. Thank you from the bottom of my heart, you made these miles feel like they weren’t even happening.
💙finally, thank you Big Bro. B, I knew you were gonna be watching from above no matter what, but getting to carry your thumb print with me and picture on my back, made every mile a little easier. I knew I was pushing for you. And for this song to come on at mile 25, just proves that you were there the whole time, helping me push that last mile💙

Thank you everyone who was a part of this journey💜💚
🤞🏼for same time next year😋

Half marathon PR today - 1:42🥹🏃🏽‍♀️

It’s full circle that a year ago at this race I hit a PR and today I hit a PR at the same race. I’m proud of myself for this accomplishment because in all honesty running is not my favorite. It’s hard, it takes a ton of mental toughness, and it requires discipline. But I’ve tried to be more consistent running these past few weeks and I can say that hard work pays off. If Carley from even last year knew she would run 13.1 miles at an average 7:47 pace she would probably pass out. I still can’t believe I actually did that today. I’m proud of myself & I can’t wait to push myself even further in my running journey🫶🏼

13.1 miles🏃🏼‍♀️🩵

I am so dang proud of myself (something I never say)🥹
I went into today’s race with a goal of finishing in 2 hours 15 minutes and I ended up finishing in 1 hour 46 minutes!! This was my first non Disney half marathon, so I really wanted to push myself.

Running is hard, which is why I’ve never loved it. But I also love doing things that are hard because of the high I feel after. Nothing compares to the feeling of pushing yourself past where you thought possible and continuing to exceed your goals🙌🏼

And I know the version of me I was a few years ago would be so extremely proud of the things she’s now accomplished🫶🏼 Here’s to more miles, smiles, and PRs!!
