📚✨ Your reading list for VENUS RX + MERCURY RX IN SCORPIO

As Venus journeys through the underworld, and Mercury invites us to revisit, rethink, and reconsider, I’m returning to the books that help me explore the deeper mysteries of love, desire, value, and transformation.

From Inanna’s descent into the underworld to the psychological landscapes of love and the mythology of Venus, these books offer rich companions for this season of reflection.

❤️ For Venus Retrograde: Exploring our relationship with love, beauty, desire, self-worth, and the patterns we’re ready to transform.

🖤 For the underworld journey: Meeting the feminine archetypes, descending into the depths of the psyche, and discovering what can only be found in the darkness.

☿️ For Mercury Retrograde: Revisiting old stories, reflecting on our inner narratives, and allowing new meaning to emerge from what we thought we already understood.

A few of the treasures in this stack:
✨ Goddesses in Everywoman by @jeanshinodabolen
✨ All About Love by @bellhooks_
✨ Inanna: Queen of Heaven and Earth by Diane Wolkstein and Samuel Noah Kramer
✨ Descent to the Goddess by Sylvia Brinton Perera
✨ Descent & Rising by @carly_mountain
✨ The Dream and the Underworld by James Hillman
✨ Venus & Jupiter by Erin Sullivan
✨ Venus Star Rising by @arielle_guttman270

These aren’t necessarily books to rush through. They’re invitations to slow down, ask better questions, and listen for the wisdom beneath the surface.

What are you reading during this retrograde season? 🌹

In September’s circle, we sat with the Welsh Goddess and witch Cerridwen. Her story granting us lesson after lesson on the messiness of the Underworld journey. But as it turns out, to quote @carly_mountain, “Our divinity is not separate from, but inextricably linked to our human mess.”

Bless the mess, as I often say in these circles.

And so, it is here, in the messy journeys of the unknown, that we will spend our next few months.

As the colder months begin to grow deeper and longer in their nights, we too shall descend into the deeper depths of the Underworld. There, we will meet the various Goddesses whose tales center in the messy dark chrysalis of the unknown. Their myths telling tales of unbecoming who we once were in order to give birth to who we are becoming. Like a caterpillar who transforms in the darkness of its own chrysalis, we too transform in the darkness of what was.

Bless the mess.

October brings with it Scorpio season and when I think of the prominent theme of rebirth (life and death) that comes with Scorpio, I think of none other than Inanna, her exiled sister Ereshkigal, and the various characters who lay witness to the journey as it unfolds.

Join me on October 15 (Thursday) as we gather in the candle lit darkness. We will sit, with each of these archetypes, and wonder into the depth of our own stories of descent. Laying witness to ourselves and to one another.

Join me, as we explore one of the most epic tales ever told in all of human history.

🕯️ Thursday, October 15 at 7:30 pm at @seedtostarcollective

My relationship with Inanna grew slowly, through years of searching for rest, wondering where my fire was, and learning to ask for help when I couldn’t find my way back.

Today, before every yoga session and women’s circle, I light four candles and ask her to stand beside me.

She is my goddess and my guide. I explore other myths, love other stories, and still keep returning to hers.

So before I take you further into her world, I wanted to share why she has such a place in mine.

Is there a story you keep returning to as your own life changes?

I loved having Carly Mountain, a women’s initiatory guide, a qualified psychotherapist and psychosexual somatic therapist, a breathworker, and writer back on the podcast!

This time, we delved into Untamed Pleasure, Carly's latest book, and talked about why sexuality and pleasure continue to be such controversial, taboo subjects, and why the untaming of our bliss and the re-wilding of our sensual nature are so very important - not just for us as individuals (and especially for women), but for humanity as a whole.

There is definitely something special about women coming together,

I am so grateful to have been participating at Heart of The Rose Festival, created by my friend Sophie Nevill @the_kindest_thing. 🌹

The mission of this festival is so noble, it is to honor the sacred feminine and awakening the divine feminine and the divine masculine, for them to come into true divine union.

I attended amazing workshops held by these amazing divine women: @kahreela_anra @carly_mountain @divineessence_debbie - I am very grateful for your wisdom and embodiment of divine feminine. ❤️

During the Women Festival, Jody was with the men - they gather all together on the same land holding the same intention.

We met at the last day of the Festival for a very special Sacred Union Ceremony.

After being 4 days only with women, meeting the men that were 4 days only with men - felt very very unique and precious.

I was so happy to reunite with my beloved @jody_deane, noticing so much difference in him. ❤️🌹

Feeling grateful to co-create the Golden Age, this time is so special.

Follow along as I share more from this beautiful journey. 🌹

The free online Feminine Wisdom Summit is almost here – a journey that begins in the darkness of the Dark Moon on the 10th, through the portal of the Autumn Equinox, and carries us into the light of the Full Moon on the 26th.

Together we’ll awaken the ancient feminine magic sleeping in our bones, and tune into the wisdom found in the Wheel of the Year and the Nordic Goddesses.

We’ll discover how Eve belongs to an ancient lineage of Earth goddesses, as well as the different ways the rise of patriarchy occurred. We’ll drink from the old sagas and Edda lore, learn to read the symbolic language of the soul, and meet the dragons as primordial beings of our life force, woven into our very DNA. And we’ll journey to the places within us where that same life force – our inner fire – has been locked away, so we can set her free once more.

Come and join us in our cauldron, where we are brewing some powerful magic together ✨

You can sign up for this free online summit on femininewisdomsummit.com (link in bio).

Recently, I attended Jane Hardwicke Collings’ Seven Gates of Menopause Ceremony.

I entered not knowing what would meet me there.

And then came a vision that was both haunting and profoundly meaningful.

The Keening Woman of the Underworld.

I saw her in the darkness — an ancient woman on her knees, her long silver hair falling around her, beating the earth and throwing its dust into the air.

And somehow, I knew her.

She was me.

She was the woman keening the seasons of her life.

The Maiden I had been.
The Mother I had been.
The years of becoming, loving, giving, losing, carrying and changing.

There was no prettiness in her grief.

No need to make it palatable.

She keened it in its rawness.

She beat the earth.
She raised the dust.
She mourned what had passed.

But she was not asking to go backwards.

That was the most powerful part of the vision.

She was moving through it.

Through the grief.
Through the dust.
Through the darkness.

Because perhaps menopause asks us to do something our culture rarely gives women permission to do:

to grieve the woman we have been, so that we can fully meet the woman we are becoming.

I am beginning to understand that not every descent is something we need to escape.

Some descents are initiations.

Some darkness is a womb.

And sometimes we must kneel upon the earth and keen our old seasons before we are ready to rise into the next one.

I honour the Maiden.
I honour the Mother.
I honour every woman I have been.

And now, from somewhere deep beneath all that dust…

I am listening for the footsteps of the Elder coming towards me.

[AND YES THESE PICTURES ARE MADE WITH AI]

We’re just about a week and a half out from release.
I’m still reeling that this beautiful creature is real and ready to be in your hands. 🙌🏽
Even more, though, is my gratitude and awe that so many incredible women I admire took the time to read it and offer praise.
Midlife Isis has been a true soul revolution in my own life. I’m so proud and humbled to offer its wisdom to you, dear woman.

She’s almost here!!!!!!
