Fashion Week has a funny way of making a closet full of clothes feel like absolutely nothing to wear. Suddenly everything you own feels too boring, too obvious or suspiciously similar to something everyone else is also about to wear. You need an outfit that says I know what I’m doing herewithout saying I spent three weeks figuring out what to wear here. Preferably one that can survive a full day of shows, brand dinners, aggressively overpriced Ubers & being perceived from approximately 400 different angles. Sans Facetune. So before we started panic-ordering, we called the ultimate cool-girl stylist. @carlyjstern , founder of luxury styling & sourcing company Carly Jordan, works with @alixearle , @ashleyaearle , @remibader & @sofitukker , to name a few. She knows what fashion girls are buying, what her clients are hunting down & what’s about to become impossible to find. She’s turned that intel into a $12.2M business. And Carly’s fashion intel is slightly better than ours, considering hers doesn’t come from 47 open tabs & a suspiciously accurate Explore page. She knows what her clients are asking for, what’s suddenly impossible to find & which pieces are quietly becoming the pieces before the rest of us start seeing them everywhere. Basically, she knows what’s about to happen to our shopping carts before we do. So we gave Carly one assignment: tell us what the hell to wear to Fashion Week. We asked for what she’s wearing herself, what she’s pulling for clients & the pieces she thinks we’re about to see everywhere.
