Coming up with… our Oboe Player! Carly Jackson 🩷💜

Carly Jackson is an Oboe Performance major at Northern Illinois University. She currently performs with the NIU Philharmonic. Carly enjoys exploring other musical avenues and is also a part of NIU’s all treble acapella group, the Harmelodics.

Her long-time favorite piece is Howard Hanson’s Symphony No. 2, subtitled the “Romantic” Symphony. She first encountered this piece while playing English Horn in her hometown youth symphony and has loved it ever since.

Carly also loves the outdoors, reading, acting as a party princess, and her sweet cats!!

First ICCA Performance!!

I'm truly so honored and grateful for this experience but the thing I'm mostly grateful for are these amazing incredible human beings who I had the utmost pleasure in performing with! These girls these incredible people have been working so hard on this set and I am so proud of all the work that we’ve done these past couple of weeks and am truly grateful for them and this sisterhood that we’ve created! I'm so thankful to be apart of this amazing group and can not wait for more incredible things to come with them! I love you gils!! @niuharmelodics 🖤💜

What a week! Carly and Makena opened Tuesday night off fantastically with many fun and exciting dance tunes. The wind ensemble followed with many circus tunes and… a vacuum solo?! Friday night Fernando and Amanda finished the week off with the orchestra featuring Tchaikovsky’s fifth symphony. Hats off to our amazing oboe studio of 2024-2025!
