WHERE I’M TEACHING NEXT! 💛

This fall is going to be such a special one, and I’m incredibly grateful for the opportunities ahead to teach, share and connect with fellow dance educators.

First up, I’ll be heading to UDMA Chicago and UDMA New York, sharing one of the subjects closest to my heart... preschool dance!

UDMA has become especially meaningful to me because these events represent so much more than teaching a class. Over the years, this dance community has brought incredible people into my life, and those relationships have grown into opportunities that reach far beyond me.

This year, some of the dancers who joined us in New York City for Arts for Autism will have another very special opportunity at UDMA...performing during the fashion show and taking the runway themselves! Watching experiences that began through relationships in our dance community come full circle and create new opportunities for my dancers is something I will never take for granted. That, to me, is one of the greatest gifts of doing this work for so many years. 💛

And then I get to come HOME!

On October 24, I’ll welcome preschool dance educators to Miss Kim’s in Burlington, NC for Miss Kim’s Preschool Dance Teacher Conference...a full day devoted to the little ones we teach and love so much.

I am SO excited about this conference. I want it to feel different... personal, practical, welcoming and filled with ideas you can take straight back to your own classroom. We’re going to talk Mommy & Me, ages 2–3, 3–4 and 4–5, ballet, tap, creative movement, classroom management, how to help with separation anxiety, marketing and growing your program, and so much more.

Chicago. New York. Burlington.
Three opportunities to learn, grow and talk all things preschool dance...and I cannot wait.

💛 Miss Kim

The perfect photo to capture this boy’s dance season 💚

This is more than just a goal met. This photo represents the literal blood, sweat, and tears that he has poured into his training. The mornings at the ballet barre where he felt like his legs couldn’t do anymore, the conditioning that pushed him past what he thought he could do, the hours of perfecting his solo, the classes that challenged him, the sacrifices he made each week, the focus he maintained, and the prayers for strength and resilience. This boy puts all his faith in God. It’s always been about His timing and the process between the studio and stage. We do not find our worth in a title or award… we find our worth in what God calls us to do and we chase our dreams with a joyful heart. Even through the moments of “not yet” and even through the days of exhaustion, Shepherd stayed true to who he is- faithful, joyful, and determined.

We are so proud of you Shepherd Paul! Your desire to work hard is evident, your light shines, and your charisma is contagious. We are thrilled to get to see you live out one of your dreams this next year!
