POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

A quick snapshot of the production behind ‘Lose Control’ ft. @carolinapadro . We wrote this around 2 years ago in all honesty, so digging into the sessions revealed elements even I’d forgotten. The elements here are the core components of the track, with other elements such as additional synth arps, orchestral stabs, additional percussion, etc (not featured here) simply complimenting what was already there.

„Touch Me Like You Did Before” OUT NOW!
Available wherever you listen to your music (or you can click the link in my bio).

As always, I wouldn’t get anywhere without a little help from my friends:
@carolinapadro for magical harmonies in the bridge
@michael.c.tuck for all the oomph in the bottom end
@jude_blue_13 for giving me a clearer view and a tiny boost that got me to the finish line
@robfillingham_art for turning dots into an actual art
@georgeearl for making the art come alive (and for letting me play his Fender)

A bit about the song: I think the meaning is fairly self explanatory, at least on the surface. I think now, looking back (it’s been a few years since I wrote it) it’s more of a message about being stuck; looking for a familiarity, safety and passion which are easier sometimes to find in memories rather than in reality.

I find it a bit funny, because I think this song about being stuck closes a certain chapter in my life with everything that’s going on. I’m very happy with how it turned up, especially as this sort of style is not in my nature.

I’m really looking forward to what’s coming and thank you to everyone who listens, likes, shares, comments and the other good stuff.

Matt

Sometimes the best thing you can do is just shut up and play! @carolinapadro writes amazing melodies and we often bounce ideas back and forth, finding the results are better than either of our ideas, but for this chorus all I needed to do was keep quiet and jam the changes whilst she came up with the topline.
