Yesterday was a trying day for @carolinakayakanglers event on Lake Gaston. Started off the tournament losing 3 decent fish in a row on a brand new bait with new hooks 🤦🏾‍♂️ 1 was definitely my kicker fish. After that I swapped to the @evergreen__usa Shower Blow. Left the 1st spot with just one fish. My main area that was loaded with fish on a point had a bass boat on it for most of the day. 4 hrs later and no bites I ended up back at my first spot. Noticed fish were randomly pushing bait to the surface so I waited and then tossed topwater to get bites to fill out my limit. Finally was able to go to my main area with less than 1.5 hour left and I culled out 2 with the @bizzbaits finesse jig. Made the adjustments and fought my way back to 3rd place. Then of course a storm rolls in to dump rain the whole way back to the ramp after lines out lol. With the wind and frenzy of pleasure boaters, @oldtownfishing AP136 held steady in keeping me in place waiting for the right moments to capitalize on schooling fish 💪🏾

I pretty much force fed the @bizzbaits finesse jig to her 😂. Hopped it right in its face and she ate. BizzBaits heavy finesse jig and cutter craw, both in the custom Bluegill pattern.

Deon’s PB! Water down 3-4ft. Fish weren’t schooled up and skittish which meant I couldn’t get Deon on a good bite. But I was able to snipe a few roamers with the Prickly Pear on Live so I hooked up and let him have it. Ended up being the big fish for the day and his PB.
