Meet Caroline, a sculptor who works in wood, metal, cement, and now clay, at Labor of Love studio.

She came to ceramics looking for a more accessible way to work, but the medium has been teaching her something else, too: patience, flexibility, and how to let go when things don’t go to plan.

“If it breaks, it breaks, and I move on to the next thing.”

Eight months in, she’s making some of the biggest pieces in our studio and finding new ways to connect ceramics with her larger sculptural practice. We’re excited to see where she takes it next.

I don't have very many progress pics of this one, so just imagine all of the steps that went into this 30'+ long project living at @moa.designandbuild right now.

A bit overdue, but I have finally put together some of the photos taken from this summer. The MOA Design and Build Internship was truly unforgettable- I got to meet and work with such talented, passionate, and inspiring people. Here is one of our projects that we collectively ideated and created for the Museum of Outdoor Arts. This piece is still up for view so please check it out if you're near Denver! More projects coming soon

This summer, I had the opportunity to intern at the Museum of Outdoor Arts in Englewood, CO, and it was honestly one of the best experiences ever. I worked with six of the coolest, most talented people to create five collaborative public pieces for the museum. Two of the pieces were based on my designs (!!), and I also got to make my own bronze-cast totem and title design for our show, Tessellation in Bloom.

I’m still so mindblown at everything I got to be part of, and none of it would’ve been possible without @o.j.johnson_ @caroline.boyd @bugzy_richards @eloise.alix @miaz.martin @cottonwoods.studio @ericarawson_art @walter.ware.18 @supergoopstudios - I love and miss you guys dearly 🫶 Our group was called “lightning in a bottle” and that’s really stuck with me- I’ll forever be proud of the work we accomplished, and that I came out of this summer both a better artist and person.

Massive thanks to @outdoorarts @moa.designandbuild for bringing us all together and making this summer what it was. So, so grateful.
