POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED
At 50, I wanted to answer one question:

Was the best aesthetic version of me already behind me?

So I set a goal to get into the best shape of my life by my 50th birthday.

But I wasn’t willing to put the rest of my life on hold to do it.

During this process, we opened a new business, celebrated weddings, engagements and graduations, walked through loss and moved closer to becoming empty nesters.

The plan had to work inside a full life.

That meant intentional training, measured nutrition, consistent recovery, accountability and the right people beside me.

The results exceeded anything I expected.

But the greatest lesson wasn’t found in the final pictures.

For 30 years, I thought I was chasing a better body.

I was really learning the power of consistency.

Part 3 of 3: Chasing Consistency.

Who won?

Young Forrest or 50-year-old Forrest? 💪

I thought I was chasing muscle.

What I was really building was confidence.

30+ years ago, one fitness goal completely changed the trajectory of my life.

Part 1 of 3: Confidence

When I look back at that skinny 150-pound kid at Auburn, the biggest transformation wasn’t physical.

Fitness taught me something I desperately needed to learn:

You can change.

You can decide who you want to become, put a plan in place and start doing the work.

And every time you keep a promise to yourself, you build a little more belief that you can handle the next one.

That lesson started with one big goal:

Gain 35 pounds of muscle.

But it eventually changed the way I approached almost everything.

Fitness.
Business.
Marriage.
Fatherhood.
Leadership.
Faith.

As I’ve gotten older, I’ve also come to see taking care of my body as an act of stewardship.

Scripture tells us our bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit. I want to take care of what God has given me so I have the strength, energy and capacity to fully pursue whatever He calls me to do.

And that’s a huge part of why I’ve spent most of my adult life helping other people get in shape.

You don’t have to be a bodybuilder.

You don’t have to compete.

You don’t have to look anything like me.

But I believe everyone experiences a better version of life when they get stronger, healthier and more disciplined.

You show up differently.

For your family.
For your work.
For the people you lead.
For the mission God has given you.

That’s what I love helping people discover.

Confidence wasn’t something I suddenly found one day.

I earned it.

One workout.
One meal.
One decision.
One kept promise at a time.

More than 30 years later, I’m still learning from that same process, and I’m more passionate than ever about helping other people experience it too.

Part 2 is where bodybuilding gives way to functional fitness, competition, community and eventually building Iron Tribe into a national franchise brand.

And that chapter taught me a completely different set of lessons.

Some of them really surprised me.

What was the first goal you ever set that made you believe you were capable of more?

The video captured the energy. The photos captured the moments.

So many people I love. So many great memories. So much to be grateful for.

Here are a few of my favorites from an unforgettable night.

Yesterday, Heaven gained the most beautiful angel. My grandma was the definition of selfless, she loved everyone before herself, always putting others first without expecting anything in return. She had the kindest heart, the gentlest soul, and a love that made everyone around her feel safe and cherished.
I will miss your hugs, your smile, your wisdom, and the way you made every moment feel like home. Thank you for showing me what unconditional love looks like. I will carry your love with me every single day. Rest easy Karo. I love you forever. Keep my family in your prayers 🤍

Our sweet Karo went to be with the Lord last night.

She loved fiercely and was our family’s biggest fan, along with everyone else’s. It didn’t matter what we were doing. Karo was going to be there, be involved, and want to know how she could help.

She and Steve, affectionately known as Wheeler, had just celebrated their 56th wedding anniversary. Her seven grandkids adored her, and she would have done anything for them.

To know Karo was to love her.

We’re all still in shock and aren’t sure how we’re going to do life without her.

Our hearts are broken, but we’re holding tightly to the promise that because of Jesus, this goodbye is not forever.

We’ll share arrangements as we know them.

Hank Brown—I can’t imagine a better man to spend the rest of my LIFE with. 😭 Thank You, JESUS, for this man, our story and Your fingerprints all over it. You have exceeded every expectation and I have a feeling we’re just getting started.

I can’t wait to spend the rest of my days loving you. Here’s to forever!!!!!!
