I wandered through another forest
Looking to bloom
And found these two branches
Reaching their hands out close to mine
What are the chances?
The seeds we planted
would take a walk and turn to talk

Dancing with $hmoney @shawnleilaa and CurrenC @carolinephillips__ . Thank yall for breathing life into my Lungs, always. 🫁🪾

Crossfader first informal showing, panel, and talk back is this Thursday from 6PM-7:30PM. You get to be the first to view the early process of how we are turning Stackin’ Stylez into a system of performance choreography/freestyle while also providing a window into the nuances and crossovers of local black movement vernaculars across the US

CROSSFADER S:1 // @harvarddance
•
•
@stackinstylezofficial began as a curriculum I built to teach kids how to freestyle. Rooted in Krump, Popping, Locking, House and more, it became my way of exploring how these dances connect. What started in classrooms evolved into battle concepts, museum installations, and experimental work blending movement, spoken word, and projection mapping.
Now the next chapter is here. I’m bringing Stackin’ Stylez into theater; transforming years of research, culture, and lived experience into a story about the science, context and spirit of freestyle dance and the local black vernacular movements that exist within it.
⬇️
On April 30th, you’ll get an informal first look at what’s been building behind the scenes.
