This weekend we had some friends over for a craft night and created a quick zine from collage materials. We couldn’t decide if we wanted to make the zine about “autumn” or “dogs” so we just ran with both. Here are some crops of what we put together! We really love how some of the materials and texture came through with Risograph.

3 years ago today, I showed up to New York City with 6 checked bags and a dream. And what a gift it has been ever since!♥️ As I’ve been reflecting on what living here has taught me, I keep coming back to the following:

I love that New York rewires reward. Because nothing is convenient here, your tolerance for uncertainty goes up and you learn to stop craving guarantee and instead start trusting your ability to adapt. My brain has learned how to sit with discomfort without running from it.

Your independence becomes instinct. This is maybe what I am most proud of since moving here. My ability to be decisive, direct, and trust myself from day to day has made me a more confident version of myself.

You quickly learn that dopamine does not come from comfort here. Small wins feel like massive victories whether it’s a lovely conversation with a stranger in the park, your bodega man remembering your name and go-to order, or the subway coming at just the perfect time, this city has taught me to celebrate the little things and look for magic all around me.

And don’t even get me started on the people. Quite possibly the best gift New York has given me is a community of perfectly unique individuals who show up, love me, and make me feel seen.

It will always be New York or Nowhere!!🗽🍎🚕🌃
