Be curious, always…

The past few weeks I was overwhelmed by the film making culture. I did not learn it in a traditional way, I foolishly jumped into it and took a first step forward in the field and made progress.

Progress is better than perfect.

To everyone trying to make a jump, it’s scary when trying something new.

@plantainpercy gave me a call to shake my nerves off to make sure I’m in the right place, affirmations are important to me - it helped.

🎥 find your tribe
🎥 believe in yourself
🎥 have a strong tight circle of family and friends
🎥 it’s going to be lonely sometimes but remember, you’re not

“Closed mouths don’t get fed”

So always communicate your concerns, your ideas and to yourself, reflect and grow. Thankful to everyone reaching out. Let’s get this gluten free bread 👏🏼

It’s always been them.

I’m just the visionary, in the test made by @adobe states I just help show the big picture.

The brushes, the colours and all that is between are the people I believe to be super talented to bring the vision to life.

Without these amazing people, there is no amazing product. Without them, I can’t push forward seeing a bigger picture that’s sets before us.

Those who had ride through the waves, or found your own path, I’m cheering you on towards your goals (even if it doesn’t include me). There’s room for creatives in this world, and we need more of it.

Have you ever wondered who that dude who delivered your coffee is, while he stands on your front lawn in full bike gear, frantically waving hello at you and saying “thank you”!? Well, if you didn’t already know, it’s me, Andrew, one of the Co-Founders of LVC.

Since the beginning of Covid, my main job has been just facilitating the web program and doing the deliveries for that program as well. It’s become a huge part of our business, and aside from the shipping container, has been our main response to Covid for the last 14 months.

About 8 months ago, I started doing as many deliveries as I could on my bike, too. This has really allowed me to see Ottawa in a completely different way, and gain a renewed appreciation for how LVC got our start, by having a little café in a bike shop in Hintonburg.

So the next time you see me dropping coffee off on your doorstep - take a sec to say hi!!! I love being able to thank everyone who supports us, whether it’s through our website, coming by the shop, or just saying “Hi!!!” as I pass through the neighbourhood.

At LVC, we spend a huge amount of time obsessing over the details. Whether it’s our roasting & sourcing practices, espresso or filter prep, or just being able to facilitate free local delivery for people at home, we love every part of the process.

While we simply like to let our coffee do the talking, in January we spent some time capturing these moments to showcase the finer workings of who we are. We’re excited to be able to share this with you now, as LVC turns 5!!!!!

Thank you so much to everyone for the last 5 years. We are so grateful for your support and believe me when I say we are just getting started! ☺️🚀

Shout out to one of the best studio rentals in Ottawa @lenzstudiohq. We filmed with them for our upcoming tv series, Modern Girl’s Guide to Divorce. Here’s why Lenz is my new favourite place to shoot in the city:
- Studio space is HUGE with enough room to film at a safe distance for my crew and hang out in between takes.
- Fully dedicated makeup and wardrobe room which made it perfect to organize all our looks with my glam squad.
- Front loading door so my crew could unload our gear easily and set up faster.
.
Working with owners @the.architxct and @weggonallen was professional, organized and so lovely. These guys are passionate about working with more creatives in Ottawa and providing a space for high quality tv and film shoots.
.
I HIGHLY recommend booking your video, tv or film shoots at Lenz in Ottawa. I’ll be booking them again for our next shoot for sure! Thank you Lenz! 💋🎥

It’s official! My home isolation tv special is available now on Bell @fibetv1! This was a much needed creative project to work on during quarantine. I self-directed, filmed, produced and edited it along with working remotely with my spectacular editor @carrhayes.
.
.
I really peeled back the layers to show viewers what life has really been like for this single mother tv host after 3 months in isolation. It will make you smile, it will make you laugh, and it will probably make you shed a tear! It’s a 14-minute short available to all Bell cable subscribers. Search “Stay at Home with: Style Files” on Bell On Demand, channel 1, and channel 100. Happy viewing 😘
