Behind every grassroots movement is a village of leaders helping to hold the vision steady. ✊🏾✨

As we reflect on opening The Black Schoolhouse and celebrating our 10-year anniversary, we want to take a moment to honor some amazing folks behind the scenes: The Black School’s Board of Directors.

🖤Dejha Carrington – Arts Administrator & Co-Founder of Commissioner @carringtoner

🖤Steven Daste – Financial Advisor & Generational Wealth Educator

This brilliant collective of national arts leaders, local historians, financial strategists, and civil rights advocates have been unwavering in their support.

A conversation about legacy in a room full of women shaping what comes next.

As we celebrate 30 years, this season’s Conversations at MOCA featured curators Laura Novoa, Kimari Jackson, and Catherine Camargo, with Amanda Sanfilippo Long guiding a discussion about leadership, curatorial practice, and staying connected to the creative communities of South Florida.

Thank you to our panelists for sharing their perspectives, and to everyone who joined the conversation, asked questions, and brought such warmth to the room. We’re grateful for the women whose vision has shaped MOCA’s history and for those carrying that work forward.
