Millport Songwriting Retreat was everything we hoped for and more! ☺️ I was joined by the incredible @kirsteen_harvey @livdawnmusic and @carronmiller_ for 3 days of songwriting on the stunning Isle of Cumbrae, just off the west coast of Scotland. Thanks to the support of @creativescots we were able to completely unplug and focus on our work without the noise and distraction of life. Surrounded by the sea, we collectively wrote 7 brand new songs for our own projects and other artists, embraced the coastal salt air and fully reset our busy minds as independent creatives. What a way to close out summer! 🥰 Here’s a little snippet of a song Kirsteen and I wrote during the retreat we’re thinking of calling ‘Before The Summer Ends’ 🫶 🎥 Kirsteen Harvey

just getting around to posting some snaps from the super fun gig at @kingtutsofficial a while back, supporting @itsaflame__ with @aschari_mp3. my personal favourite was @carronmiller_ and @andy_teeee eating pizza punks on the train station floor & raising hell 🤘🏼 also there’s a clip here of a newer tune called Premonition that may or may not be on the album 👀 (it is)

Absolutely delighted to share the news that @creativescots have funded the first (of hopefully many!) songwriting retreats I’ll be hosting on the stunning Isle of Cumbrae! ☺️ The Millport Songwriting Retreat will allow 4 independent songwriters the opportunity to escape the rat race and truly focus on their craft across 3 days of writing sessions. For this first retreat I’ll be joined by the incomparable @kirsteen_harvey @livdawnmusic and @carronmiller_ and I cannot WAIT to see what we come up with! 🤩 Big love to @creativescots for having faith in this project and supporting independent creatives here in Scotland! 🙏 Keep your eyes peeled for updates! ☺️

[Secret Show | 090826] In the spirit of the @edfringe we put on a free, secret show on Sunday evening at @sneakypetesclub - We played songs for the last time and songs for the first time, across two totally unique 10-song sets, and had a really fantastic time doing it. We eschewed social media promotion for this show and instead relied on our newsletter, word of mouth and on the day flyering. While this was a bit of an experiment, it felt substantially more aligned with the Day Sleeper ethos and we were thrilled that it paid off. Quietly. Slowly. On and On. If you were there, thanks so much for coming down. DS, x
