After completing my 12th year of Tiger Sharks summer swim, I am now too old to compete next year. As a 5 year old youngster, I always looked at the "big kids" and thought they were the coolest people. They always seemed so fast, so funny, so nice, and so old. For the last couple years I have been one of the "big kids" and it is always so much fun interacting with the "little kids" knowing that they look at me the same way I looked at the ones before me.

A lot has happened in my life because of Tiger Sharks; the main being that I fell in love with swimming. But here's a few others:

Most of my close friends and I all met because we swam Tiger Sharks... I had my first crush on a girl... Dylan Thomas beat me every time we raced... I learned that working hard pays off when I broke a few team records held by fast swimmers I looked up to... And I learned to hate backstroke...

Tiger Sharks has always been the fun season for me. All of the numerous, amazing memories that have been made with friends on the team will stick with me for the rest of my life.

Yesterday's SIESA Conference meet couldn't have gone any better. As a team, we won for the 2nd time in the league's 50+ year history. I was fortunate to be on 2 relays that absolutely smashed SEISA meet records and will now stand for a long time. Individually, I managed to pull out a win one last time with a PR 29.91 Breaststroke. Not as fast as I had hoped but first time sub 30 from a flat start is hard to complain about. I also swam close to a PR in the 50 Fly and then went a PR of 1:01.70 in the 100 IM to get 5th which resulted in our team getting 1st, 3rd, 4th, and 5th in the event. I honestly couldn't have asked for a better way to end this chapter of my life.

So yes... tears have been shed because I will absolutely miss the Tiger Sharks summer swim season family and the friends and memories that are made there. However, it is just a small part of this amazing life that the good Lord has blessed me with so I look forward to seeing what He has planned next in my life!
