A beautiful day in Sagewood’s outdoor space, with Birdie Boys adding a little extra fun to the celebration. The perfect match.

It’s been a year since I came home from my mission. If you knew me as an adolescent you were probably pretty shocked to hear that I was going to be an LDS missionary. Around the age of 17 I became very depressed, and I started to read The Book of Mormon because of an instagram post. It made me feel better, so I kept reading until I finished it, and I prayed and said I’d do whatever was asked of me if God would just make me feel happy again. I received a very clear answer to go on a mission. Two years later, 6 months into my mission, my companion Elder Andersen asked me “Elder Selph, How are you so happy all the time?” and I realized God had kept his promise. I can’t really put into words just how much my mission meant to me, and what it did for me, but I’m so grateful for it. They really were the best two years.
