OSI 20M TS Coupé

🇮🇹 Italian Design meets German Engineering 🇩🇪

Der OSI 20M TS wurde 1967 und 1968 bei OSI (Officine Stampaggi Industriali) in Turin in Kooperation mit Ford Köln produziert. 🇮🇹

Es gab auch ein OSI 20M Cabriolet, wahlweise mit dem 2,0-Liter-V6 oder dem 2,3-Liter-V6.

The Audi A2 is probably a good example of a car ahead of it's time. Released back in 1999 it was different than any other Audi's before. It's unique design polarized - you either hate or like it.

These are actually growing on me as time went by and they are likely become a future classic for sure.

The huge advantage of it's minivan-like, boxy design - a compact size and a very usable interior.

Audi built the A2 on it's Audi Space Frame (ASF) which was a huge improvement for the total weight of the car. As you can see, the base A2 weight less than 900 kg's which is impressive for a modern car with many optional comfort features.
Despite the weight factor, the ASF improved it's crash abilities aswell as rust resistance of the chassis.

Enginewise you never had a very "fun" option to choose except you had fun in saving fuel! The 1.2 litre TDI engine was capable of an average fuel consumption of 3,0 litres/100 km.

Fun fact, the front grill was a service flap for checking the oil level for example so you did not open the hood.

So far so good, new technologies are often expensive in the beginning - in combination with it's outstanding design the A2 ended up being a flop regarding to it's sales.

The fifth generation Mistubishi Colt aka Mitsubishi Mirage was introduced back in June 1996 in Germany. Early models are therefore turning 30 this year!? So these are officially becoming oldtimer's very soon.

This one right here is a facelifted 2000 model as this "Jazz" edition was only sold in this year. This one actually has a big sunroof aswell. Fun fact: Mitsubishi released the facelift just two years after it's introduction in 1998. In late 2000 they worked on the engines to fulfill the emission tests back then.

The result was... less powerful engines with a maximum of 90hp.
Japan actually got the Mirage Cyborg powered by a 1.6 litre engine producing 175 hp which is probably a real hothatch.

Although these sold pretty good back in the late 90's/early 00's - it's getting hard seeing one and I assume these will end up being completely forgotten. I really like it's compact size and the front design but never became a huge fan of the rear.

The Wartburg 1.3 was the facelifted version of the Wartburg 353 and only produced between 1988 and 1991. Despite the Sedan, this Wartburg was also sold as an Estate called "Tourist". The engine was actually made by Volkswagen and came originally out of the Polo 86C. You can imagine - the performance of these were not competitive in the late 80's/early 90's as the main construction was made in the early 1960's.

Land Rover Defender 90 2019-present 🇬🇧

Spotted the Defender in downtown Calgary during the last days of summer. You don't usually see them in that 90 version that is the 2 door but there it was in matcha green or pistachio green and the wheels in the same color. Really cool and original. What are your thoughts on this new Defender?
