✨ book spotlight ✨ Oh my gosh, hi friends! The last couple of weeks have been a doooooozy. I traveled to San Diego for a work conference at the beginning of the month. I even got to see the sailors aboard the USS Lincoln from my conference hotel 🥺😭 After getting back home, between the traveling, the weather back in Arizona, and just overall stress on my body - my bulging discs decided they’ve had enough and wanted to flare ☠️ hence why I’ve been a bit slow - but I miss you all. 🍁 Thank you partners @hanoversquarepress & @harpercollins for sending me a #gifted copy of The Story Baker by @carsten.henn! ♥ ABOUT THE BOOK ♥ From the international bestselling author of The Door-to-Door Bookstore comes a delicious, heartwarming story of a has-been ballerina who takes up a temporary job in a bakery, finding purpose in every loaf she bakes, for readers of Fredrik Backman and Robin Sloan. What ingredients does a good life need? Though she only just started her temporary job at the village bakery, former ballet dancer Sofie already wants to quit from day one. Her career abruptly ended after an injury threatened any and all chances of success, and losing her most beloved passion has thrown her life off track. Yet there’s something about the rhythms of the bakery that captivates her. Fascinated, Sofie watches old Italian baker Giacomo at work, and discovers that baking bread is almost like a the dough is kneaded on beat, the rotation of the hands a steady rhythm, the swing of the hips like a practiced routine. To her own surprise, Sofie comes to see the little bakery as far more than just a place of it slowly transforms into a reprieve. It is here that she discovers the wisdom of a simple man, the joy of small things and the courage to embrace change. A bestselling phenomenon, The Story Baker is the delightfully charming small-town story of one woman who finds solace, love, and community in the most unlikely of places. 🥰 QOTD: what are you reading this week? #thestorybaker #carstonhenn #bookmail #bookstagram

▪︎"The Door-to-Door Bookstore", Carsten Henn A little love letter to books, bookshops, and the unexpected connections that bring people together. Carl Kollhoff has spent his days delivering books to his customers, carefully choosing each title to match their personalities and tastes. But when an unexpected friendship enters his life, his quiet routine begins to change in ways he never imagined. A heartwarming story about loneliness, friendship, the magic of books, and the little things that can make all the difference. A gentle reminder that sometimes, the right book and the right person can find us exactly when we need them most. #themotherofbooks #thedoortodoorbookstore #carstenhenn #feelgoodbook #booklover

🙈📚 Denn wisst ihr was?

The story of a ballet dancer who had to find another dream. Sophie fell in love with baking stories into bread. And I fell in love with Audiobook narrating. How very lucky we both were. I can’t thank @harpercollins @johnmarshallmedia @carsten.henn enough for this full circle moment 🩰🥖💕
