Words cannot describe how thankful I am for everything camp has given me. I have met some of my closest friends here, people I now get to call family. I had a rough start at camp, but coming back my freshman year was the best decision I have ever made. This is the place where I found myself and discovered how I want to live my life by following the path God has planned for me. Being on leadership has given me purpose and a reason to keep going, even during the moments when I felt like I had none. The lessons, friendships, laughter, and memories I have made here will stay with me forever. Although saying goodbye is hard, I would rather miss this place and the people in it than have never made these memories at all. Camp will always hold a special place in my heart, and I will forever be grateful for everything it has given me. ❤️

Where do I even begin...

I have been going to this camp for 18 years and I can truly say with all my heart that this is God's greatest gift to me. I have had the privilege of making lifelong friends and community with everyone I have met at camp, and even though this is the end of my chapter as a "camper," I know God is not done with me yet! Looking back on all of the camps and retreats I realize now just exactly how lucky I am to have met all of the amazing people in my life and this community I can call home. With that being said I know that Disciples Crossing will ALWAYS be home to me, and DC is where the real world is!

Observing my dearest friends this week has helped shape me into being my truest self.
All of the good things said and done by them are all reflections of God’s love. My last CYF as a camper, although quite sad, getting to be a part of the real world, even just for parts of my life, has been so rewarding. I want to thank every single person at this camp for being so abundantly loving in every aspect of my life. okay okay, I need to stop crying now!

I know now what the real world looks like, I'm just leaving it. I can always come back to it, even if it's just sitting with one person. But why not make that table even bigger?
So many things stuck with me this week that I would like to share below. In the meantime, whoever is reading this, I love you, God loves and knows you, and we both serve a purpose in this world. Embrace your gifts, talents, and fruits. I can’t wait to see who we become💛
