When you support local, you’re supporting a lot more than just the business. You’re supporting women in college, new instructors starting to find their voice, the woman who just had her first baby, the men out there making fitness a living because of their passion for the work, the person who just moved here looking to find community, the people who show up everyday before the sun is up to make this space what it is, young men and women finding their way in the world and so much more.

So whether it is us, another studio, your favorite local shops and restaurants, think about what you’re really supporting when you support small. It’s so much more.

Six years ago we put nine bikes in our now office at the sweat studio and started The Works Cycle. That little pop-up with nine bikes wasn’t fancy, was always a little too hot, we used a speaker off Amazon for the sound system and checked people in on a sheet of paper but it held so many memories and was the start of something bigger.

We’re celebrating on a bike all day long. Thank you to everyone who has poured into this community. Best part? Seeing some of the same people who were in the room six years ago in the rooms today.

Having someone in your corner, cheering you on and genuinely celebrating your wins, truly is the best feeling. But being a hype girl for someone else feels just as good.

Kindness is contagious. And I think we could all use a little more of it online.
