Last week my family beach house trip started out rough, but eventually everyone who had planned on attending was able to make it! We only had one 'full' day together, but that was more than enough to make it memorable to me, especially since it was a lot of my family member's first time canoing! Thankfully the weather cleared up for the rest of the trip and we were able to put it behind us, at least for one day. It was so special to have all three sides of our families together. ⠀

{ gift of the year }
Every Christmas I choose one item or theme I purchase en mass to give out as gifts to all of my friends and family. This year I struck a sweet deal with @savorpatisserie and gifted everyone a box of real French macarons, which was a big hit! What am I going to do next year?!

Ten years ago I was struggling. Today I am thriving due to the help others have given me. In gratitude I am proud to announce I have started a scholarship for high school seniors pursuing in the field of arts.
I told my story of overcoming my adversity to 800+ people at the new teachers breakfast. This was the highlight of my year. •
Ken Presley of Frost Bank was so touched by my speech that he matched my $3,000 to the Kathy Tran Scholarship of the Arts! •
As of now I will be dividing $6,000 to six different students in the Richardson school district! This will be in collaboration with Richardson Excellence in Education Foundation. Keep an eye out for applications in the fall.
