A cute little morning around downtown Courtenay 🍂✨

We wandered through town checking out the Día de Muertos window decorations, picked up some very yummy tortilla chips at the farmers market, then brought them home to work into breakfast — paired with a café de olla, of course. ☕️

Then back out again for another wander around downtown, finishing with a beer at Gladstone.

A very good way to spend a fall Saturday. 💛

SOMOS Spotlight ❤️

This week I'd love to introduce you to Casa Fuego 🌶️🔥, where authentic homemade Mexican salsa brings the flavors of Mexico 🇲🇽 to the Comox Valley.

Founded by Vivian, a proud Mexican, Casa Fuego was born from missing the flavors and traditions of home after moving to Canada.

In Mexico, salsa is more than a condiment. Every family has its own recipe, shared around the table and passed down through generations. That's the tradition Vivian brings to every handcrafted jar, made in small batches with authentic Mexican techniques and real ingredients. 🔥

Along with their handcrafted salsas, Casa Fuego also offers Café de Olla syrup, pickled products, and dried chiles.

The name Casa Fuego means House of Fire, a place where warmth, culture, and passion come together. ❤️

👉 Swipe to discover delicious ways to elevate your favorite foods and drinks, from your morning coffee to pizza night. ✨

Follow @casafuego.ca for recipes, cooking tips, and product updates. If you're in Campbell River this Saturday, you're in luck! Vivian will be at a local market, so be sure to stop by, say hello, and discover everything Casa Fuego has to offer. 🇲🇽

I am feeling so grateful for all those who attended Barefoot and Unbound, a one-day retreat for female entrepreneurs who love being outside. We explored what it means to step out of isolation and into collaboration.
We had incredible conversations, amazing food and fun in both the sauna and river.
This was a joint venture between Shift Adventure and Wellness & Akoya Lifestyle and Wellness Therapy.

Yummy locally made salsa macha, spooned over leftover red rice and topped with a fried egg.

A spicy little breakfast upgrade.🌶️

🥑✨ Simplemente perfecto. Two slices of golden toast, creamy smashed avocado, and jammy sliced eggs seasoned with black pepper & chili flakes — because breakfast deserves to be this good. 🍳❤️
