POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

I’ve spent a little time today going through these photos and, honestly… WOW.
What a journey it’s been. 🥹

These are 49 memories from our Chat & Eat Night adventures, from 2014 – 2026. Looking back at them has made me realise just how much I/ Potluck Cornwall has achieved.

And this is only one part of the story. These photos don’t include all the Supper Clubs, Foraging Adventures, Bring & Share Potlucks, Host-a-Roasts, Feast Nights, food-related movie nights, cookery classes, collaborations and all the other food-fuelled adventures we’ve created along the way.

Fourteen years of living in Cornwall and I've eaten a heck of a lot of sensational food. 😂🍴

And, I’m incredibly proud to say, a whole lot of return business brought to Cornwall’s wonderful independent hospitality industry along the way.

What makes me proudest is why Potluck Cornwall started in the first place.
It was never just about going out for a meal.
It started predominantly from a desire to help tackle loneliness and isolation, to create spaces where people could turn up, sit around a table with strangers and leave having shared good food, stories, belly laughed and made a new friend or two.

And 49 Chat & Eat Nights later, that still gives me the biggest buzz. I’m so proud of what I’ve built, but I absolutely couldn’t have done it without you.
Every person who has booked a ticket, brought a friend, came along on their own, supported an event, shared a post, recommended Potluck to someone else or simply kept showing up, thank you. 🥰

You’ve helped make this little idea into something much bigger than I ever imagined. So here’s to Chat & Eat No.50 @konabar_ …and then, of course, the next 50 adventures.

I wonder where we’ll end up next…🍜😉

I understand that many people still think that Potluck Cornwall means you have to bring a dish, and sometimes, depending on the event, you do, but that's never been my core focus.

(Swipe to discover more)

‘Potluck’ for me has always represented the unexpected, like an element of surprise.

It’s about not knowing who you'll meet, what food we'll try together, the conversations we'll have, supporting local businesses through collaborations, and helping to reduce loneliness and isolation. Something that many of us, including myself, have experienced.

For me, the most meaningful thing you can bring isn't a dish. It's simply yourself.

If you've ever been curious about joining us, I'd love to welcome you, and if you're interested in collaborating, partnering, or supporting what comes next for Potluck Cornwall,

I'd love to hear from you.

Located just a short stroll from Falmouth main street and docks, @casatapa is a Spanish tapas bar with a Cornish twist, infusing locally sourced ingredients with authentic Spanish cuisine to create a unique culinary experience, all washed down with delicious cocktails made by their talented mixologist and carefully selected wine.

With a second location in Newlyn right by the harbour, Casa Tapa is a popular spot and a refreshing alternative to the array of cuisine available in Cornwall.

What a night! Thirty of us made our way down to @casatapa in Newlyn last night for our 45th Chat and Eat Night, and I think we can all agree it was an incredible evening.

Chef-owner Fraser Hill and his team never fail to impress. Dish after dish arrived packed with bold flavours, beautiful presentation, and the kind of attention to detail that only comes from a real passion for food. Honestly, it was a feast for all senses.

There were so many favourites it’s hard to know where to start... Again the slow-braised Cornish pig cheeks were absolutely melt-in-the-mouth. The Ibérico tenderloin was perfectly pink and full of smoky rosemary aroma. The romesco-dressed artichokes were bright, crunchy, and totally addictive. The Manzanilla olives with pesto were another crowd pleaser. And the scallops, were sweet, and seared to perfection. Just gorgeous, we were all swooning over them.

I would also like to thank Nik Butcher from @valleruanoliveoil for joining us as our guest speaker and letting us try his fabulous cold-pressed Cornish olive oil. It had this really lovely salty finish - so different and so delicious. We loved hearing about the process behind it too.

As always, massive love to the Casa Tapa front of house team - Max, Lauren, Millie and Finley who looked after us so well, and Chefs Fraser, Joel, Spencer, and Harry in the kitchen, the dream team. You all made the evening feel so welcoming and seamless.

Everything on the menu was made using brilliant local produce from R J Trevarthen, @westcountry_foodservice and @pyskfish . It’s always so inspiring to see Cornish ingredients turned into something so exciting.

Thank you again for a truly unforgettable night - we’re still talking about it and already looking forward to the next one.
