The woman in the photos has a story you can’t see. Don’t we all?

I’ll never forget standing outside my new apartment in Dallas, watching my stepdad and brother drive away after moving me here.

I cried.

I was alone in this huge city I knew nothing about, without knowing a single friend, and wondering what the hell I had just done.

Leaving my small town in Louisiana didn’t make sense to everyone. But somewhere inside me, I knew there was a bigger life out there for me to explore. I just had no idea how hard I was going to have to work for it.

There have been times I couldn’t afford my rent or mortgage. Times I worked a second job after my 9–5 just to make ends meet.

In 2020, I left an 11-year mortgage career to start over in real estate. I had a baby. We were broke. I had no idea where my first client would come from.

And even after I became successful, it wasn’t always what it looked like online. Still isn’t.

I’ve lost clients I worked incredibly hard for. I’ve been underestimated. I’ve sat in my car wondering if I was cut out for this. I even had a year where I wondered if I’d completely lost my touch and quietly took a second job working retail just to keep going.

You wouldn’t have known it, but it was there.

I’ve outgrown friendships. I’ve outgrown versions of myself. I’ve closed chapters I thought would be part of my story forever.

And through all of it, I’ve learned that you don’t have to feel ready to change. You don’t have to stop being scared first.

Sometimes you just have to do the scary thing while you’re scared.

So if you’re sitting somewhere wondering if you should take the chance, make the move, start over, leave something behind, or go after a life or chance you can’t stop thinking about.. you should.

You don’t have to know exactly how it’s all going to work out. I certainly didn’t.

I’m proud of the woman in the photos ~ not because she has everything figured out, but because I know every version of her it took to get here.

And if there’s one thing I hope my daughter learns from watching, it’s this:

Never make yourself smaller because the life you want feels too big.

Motherhood, but make it art. 🤍

There’s something so special about documenting this season exactly as it feels.. beautiful, powerful, feminine, and fleeting. We leaned into warm light, movement, texture, and a little editorial edge for this maternity session, and I absolutely love where it took us.

Maternity portraits don’t have to fit into one mold. They can be soft. They can be bold. They can feel like fashion. Most importantly, they can feel like you.

A chapter worth remembering exactly this beautifully.

As I gear up for the final quarter of 2026, I’ve found myself reflecting on just how grateful I am for this business and every person who has been a part of it.

This January, I’ll celebrate 14 years in business as a photographer and I have felt every single one of those years. In the best way.

Fourteen years of learning, growing, adapting, investing, creating, making mistakes, finding my style, pushing myself and constantly evolving to be better for my clients. Photography has grown right alongside me through so many different seasons of my life.

This business has also given me the ability to build a career doing something I genuinely love while supporting and raising my two girls. That alone is something I will never take for granted.

But when I think about what has made these 14 years so fulfilling, it really comes down to the people.

To every client who has trusted me with an important moment, every repeat client who continues to come back, every person who has referred my name to someone else, and everyone who has supported my work over the years, THANK YOU!

I’ve had the privilege of documenting so many chapters of people’s lives. Families growing, seniors graduating, careers beginning, businesses being built, celebrations, milestones and everything in between. Some of you I’ve photographed for years, and getting to watch your lives and families evolve from behind my camera is one of the greatest gifts of what I do.

Nearly 14 years in, I still truly love photography. I love creating beautiful images, but more than anything, I love the people it has brought into my life and the moments I’ve been trusted to preserve.

As we head into the last few months of 2026, I’m incredibly thankful for the familiar faces I’ll get to photograph again and looking forward to all of the new ones I haven’t met yet.
