What a beautiful day in community! LIT Fest by Kulturally Lit @kulturallylit was such a joyful celebration of all things Baldwin. So much so we hardly took any photos 😂 We had to snatch a few of these from friends! Congratulations Ife @ifemichellerose and team; you did it, yet again 🎉 So very very happy the day included the launch of dear friend and Sankofa Learning Center @sankofalearningcenter founder Amelia Allen Sherwood’s @ameliaasherwood beautiful early reader series, Mae We Be Free, and so proud and overjoyed to play even a teeny role in helping get it into alll the hands! (Do you hear that? We said: All. The. Hands. Come and get ‘em!) What a joy to witness Amelia manifest manifest manifest; we can’t wait to see what dreams come next! In the meantime, of course, we will be dreaming up an in-the-bookspace party to welcome these sweet gems - Sis, Pop, Kin, Cat and Nes, and Hat! Might just have to be a dance party, in fact! 🤔 Big thanks to Cross student Jahnique, who helped us staff our Baldwin book table, where we heard such rave reviews from folks who had the good fortune of attending all the panels. Oooh we wished we could have been in multiple places at once… Speaking of multiple places… much love to Raquel who held it down to close the day with the book(joy)mobile at Bloom @gatheratbloom for the Casa Verde fundraiser. Justin @j.infuse is an angel among us and is making such truly good and gorgeous things grow. Please consider donating to this important effort; if you wanted to buy a book today - all proceeds to @casaverdenewhaven - and you couldn’t make it, just stop by the bookspace (or call) and let us know and we’ll pay your contribution forward. Teamwork makes the dream work; for real. Such a spectacular day full of such sparkling souls… Grateful! 🌈📚❤️ #possiblefutures #bookjoy #kulturallylit #foreverbaldwin #maewebefree #casaverdenewhaven #growtogether #community #love
