The secret of joy is Christ in me - E.E

POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

2025 had a significant impact-mostly in subtle, tender ways.

I turned 40. I got my electric bike. Floated. Found a good pair of barrel jeans. Folded a ton of laundry. I barely cooked. I am joyful. 😄

Micah and I celebrated 10 years of marriage. He went on his first deep-sea fishing trip and caught a boat-record lingcod that fed our family. We experienced the circle of life firsthand—raising (and losing) 40 chickens on the farm. He made homemade communion bread. He ran for office, but instead stepped into service on the PTO board and the @saltandlightranchoregon board.

Prezcott conquered kindergarten-two-wheeled bikes, soccer goals, swimming without assistance, Spanish fluency, lost teeth, and a growing, conscious desire to let Jesus lead his life.

Charlie discovered a love for drawing, creating, and all things art. He built his first LEGO set independently, tried soccer (and decided it wasn’t for him), and formed friendships and bonds that are an absolute joy to witness.

We made frequent trips to California to celebrate major milestones, spend time with family and friends, and manage our Anaheim rental.

We experienced our first true “snow day”-which turned into a snow week-when schools and jobs shut down and the world slowed.

I had the honor of leading worship in a horse arena, at a women’s retreat, and at my local church, as well as teaching and mentoring young worshippers in the Rogue Valley.

We leaned into deep, intentional community-finding a village committed to living life together and raising our children together.

We treasured visits from friends to Oregon, multiple camping trips, boat rides, and our first time crabbing. We spent ample quality time with beloved friends and family whenever possible.

I also welcomed a deeper desire for studying, puzzling, and being fully present.

This year feels like one of those quiet hinge years-the kind you don’t fully understand until you look back.

I’m deeply grateful for this formative year and for the unexpected blessings that come so gracefully through following Jesus.

“The Lord has done great things for us, and we are filled with joy.” -Psalm 126:3

It feels as though ever since we met @mikemendeeeezy and @drea.mdz7 our eldest son Zion (now 14) has talked about working out with Mike, because he wants to get buff and strong.

Well, today’s that day. Excited to hear the stories of everything that happened during the workout, and see what kind of fire this lights in Zion.

Mike & Andrea - thank you for being trustworthy with our kids, and for loving them (and us) like family.

Grateful. I don’t hear it enough, until things get crazy, scary, risky, etc.

Today, nothing is wrong. Things are peaceful, life is beautiful. God is good, and faithful. And me? I’m grateful.

Grateful for Jesus. Grateful that my mom is still alive after that heart scare a few weeks ago (which led to an emergency triple bypass). Grateful for my mother-in-law who is delighted to drop everything to come and be a presence for her grand babies’ “Grandparents Day at school.

Grateful for my wife, @casaxqueen , my buds!
She’s an amazing mom who loves Jesus and her family well!
I’m bummed her Mother’s Day gift is delayed in arrival, but we will still celebrate her today!

You’re a great mom buds! You’re the best partner to have alongside in this crazy journey called life!

Happy Mother’s Day!

@casaxqueen my bud, my love. Happy Valentine’s Day! I snapped this picture from a video you took of yourself listening to our conversation about coffee.

I love how I don’t have to dream alone.
You’re right there, you’re right here.

I love you.
I love your love.

A few days late, but just needed to get this out there before I tried to post anything else.

This is my bride! @casaxqueen - and we’ve just celebrated our sweet 16 of marriage.

I’m amazed daily at how this woman lives her life.
I’m impressed often of how she responds to some of the biggest challenges any person has / can face in life.

Marriage isn’t easy. It’s easy to look at the speck in someone else’s eye; all the while ignoring the log in your own. Most of the time, I find out that the spec I think I’m seeing in her eye, is usually just the tip of my own “eye log” (lol). I’m reminded often of Isaiah 64 - Change MY heart oh God, and Psalms 51 - Create in ME a clean heart oh God.

Bud - you’re “da best” (insert Nacho Libre voice).
I love this life JESUS has given to us.

I will continue to love you - my bride, as He loves His.
I will continue to love our tribe as He loves me.

Time for the corniness… “there’s so much more, in 2024!”

Here’s to another year of adventure, romance, and fun!

Psalms 100: 1-3
1. Shout for joy to the LORD, all the earth.

2. Worship the LORD with gladness;
come before him with joyful songs.

3. Know that the LORD is God.
It is he who made us, and we are his;
we are his people, the sheep of his pasture.

When discouragement comes and you wanna quit, but
The Lord keeps reminding you that your called and He has a purpose and plan for your life 😫
I keep people around me who will not just tell me what I want to hear, but will challenge me all while being sensitive to my real feelings… and what’s most valuable about these friends is——>They pray for me!

“Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life.”
‭‭John‬ ‭6‬:‭68‬ ‭
“Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken.”
‭‭Ecclesiastes‬ ‭4‬:‭12‬
“Not that I have already obtained all this, or have already arrived at my goal, but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me.”
‭‭Philippians‬ ‭3‬:‭12‬ ‭NIV‬‬
