📌 SAVE & SHARE: lighting a @jetboil is nothing to be scared of 🫶🏼

I’ve seen a lot of women online say that they are scared of lighting a Jetboil, so I wanted to show you how simple it is to light it. @popflyco #popflypartner

I’ve been using mine for years - for backpacking and camping - and it’s so handy! I wish I had bought mine sooner. It would make a great Christmas gift 👀

It will not spontaneously combust. These are very safe pieces of gear to have! Obviously, don’t get the fuel near a fire or heat source, though.

What you’ll need:
Jetboil
Fuel canister
Water
Freeze dried meal

How to use it:
Take all of the pieces out of the Jetboil
Get the propane fuel canister out
Get the bottom piece of the Jetboil out and flip the silver knob over
Screw the bottom piece onto the fuel canister
Twist the silver knob at the bottom to open up the valve so the propane is coming out. You will hear a slight “hissing”. That is okay.
Push the button to light the stove - easy peasy!
Do NOT put the Jetboil cooking cup on top of the flame before you light it. This will cause it to make a bigger flame when you light it and it can even melt the insulation around it.
Place the cooking canister on top
Once the flame on the side is orange and the water is boiling you know it’s hot
Twist the silver knob to turn the Jetboil off
Pour the boiling water into the measuring cup and into your freeze dried meal
Wait the allotted time and enjoy!

Yesterday, I got to attend the free Better Trails Club event hosted by @alltrails and @rei.

We went on a guided hike here in Matthews Winters Park in Jefferson County. We learned more about the history of the area, Leave No Trace principles, got to mingle with others who also love the outdoors, and I even got to see some familiar faces from past events 🥰
