Itโ€™s been a privilege to be a small part of @caseykrueger journey. Returning to professional soccer is remarkable in its own right. Returning as a two-time mom makes it even more impressive.

Over the last several weeks, sheโ€™s shown up every day with unmatched professionalism, consistency, and a willingness to be challenged. Every decision we made was centered around preparing her for the demands of the game because the goal wasnโ€™t simply to return to play, it was to ๐’“๐’†๐’•๐’–๐’“๐’ ๐’“๐’†๐’‚๐’…๐’š.

Her physical qualities speak for themselves. Her technical ability, athleticism, and competitiveness are obvious. But one thing Iโ€™ve always appreciated about Casey is how dependable she is as a defender. Sheโ€™s a player whoโ€™s always there when her team needs her, and getting to work with her these last several weeks has only reinforced that.

Iโ€™m incredibly excited to watch this next chapter unfold, not just as a professional soccer player, but now as ๐’‚ ๐’•๐’˜๐’-๐’•๐’Š๐’Ž๐’† ๐’Ž๐’๐’Ž ๐’“๐’†๐’•๐’–๐’“๐’๐’Š๐’๐’ˆ ๐’•๐’ ๐’•๐’‰๐’† ๐’ˆ๐’‚๐’Ž๐’† ๐’”๐’‰๐’† ๐’๐’๐’—๐’†๐’”. Wishing you a healthy, successful, and strong year.

P.S. wait till the end- safe to say she can still hit her target. ๐ŸŽฏ

One of my favorite parts of working with athletes in this setting is that no two rehabilitation plans look exactly the same.

Postpartum return to performance isnโ€™t about following a timeline or checking boxes. Itโ€™s about understanding the athlete in front of you, the demands of her sport, and identifying both the barriers and the enablers to getting back to the game.

That means collaboration.

It means listening.

It means being objective.

And it means making decisions based on what the athlete demonstrates, tolerates, and has earned the right to doโ€”not on assumptions about what a postpartum athlete should or shouldnโ€™t be doing.

For us, that has meant addressing every bucket of need: movement quality, lumbopelvic function, strength, speed, rate of force development, agility, conditioning, soccer-specific skills, and perceptual-cognitive performance. Returning to professional soccer requires much more than tissue healing.

And maybe my favorite part of this process? Watching this athlete show up every session with an incredible work ethic, a willingness to be challenged, and the confidence to always say, โ€œI can do more.โ€ To say @caseykrueger is inspiring would be an understatement.

Sheโ€™s a reminder that postpartum athletes arenโ€™t fragile, theyโ€™re high-performing athletes. Our job is to understand the demands theyโ€™re returning to, assess their current capacity, address the barriers we can, build on the strengths they already have, and create a plan thatโ€™s as individualized as they are.
